My Mom inspires me

My mom inspires me to do my best because she has been able to overcome a lot of challenges life threw at her as a single mother to 4 kids. She is such a strong and resilient woman that I strive to be that way as well. She always teaches me something new everyday. I don't know what I would do without her.

I value new experiences because it goes to show you how much you can do and see in the world, we often keep ourselves in a bubble of comfortability but it's so nice seeing how big the world is and what things you can experience that you never knew were there. I haven't been able to travel yet but I'm excited to eventually see other parts of the world and nature.

I value education because it allows me to better myself and learn something new, it's empowering to understand a subject and implement it in something i want to do for the rest of my life.

Frida Kahlo makes me proud of my culture because she is such an icon. She embraced/celebrated her roots and implemented them into her art. She challenged beauty norms and pushed back the idea that non-western looks are "less than".

I love this motto and i always remind myself because it's easy to get lost in your thoughts and be negative but staying positive helps a lot and keeps me going.

I'm proud of this tradition in my culture because it redefines how death is viewed. Instead of being scared of death, it embraces it with joy, vibrant colors, and meaning. It's such a powerful expression of love and memory that shows you death isn't the end but a part of the cycle of life.
