"The End" Important Scene

In this scene, Eddie is saving a little girl from the falling roller coaster ride malfunction. Eddie dies in this scene, trying to save another person's life. This scene really shows how kind of a person Eddie is because he never met this little girl in his life but he jumped out and saved her without even thinking twice about it. This shows that Eddie is incredibility kind and a great person.

This scene is describing Eddie's 5th birthday party when he was a kid, his dad's friend lifts him up into the air and holds him from his legs. When Eddie gets down he punches Mickey in the arm, and runs to his mom. This scene shows how growing up his mom was his big figure, and he didn't have a great relationship with men since a young age as shown in the scene.

This scene goes back to when Eddie just arrived in Heaven currently looking at his childhood home. Eddie meets the blue man where he explains what going on. This scene is important because it steps up the rest of the book for the reader, explaining why these people he meets are going to be important and how during the time of meeting these people Eddie truly didn't know how important they would later on be.

This scene is when the blue man is explaining to Eddie how important he was in his life, but he wasn't at the time. At first he thought the blue man took him to eddie's funeral but he then realizes that it was blueman's funeral not his own. Eddie still confused about how they are connected because they barely new each other at the time. Eddie then embraces all of the bluemans struggle.

The Second Person

This scene is when Eddie enters the second location of his journey through heaven, early on his realizes he is back in the war, like when he was a young man. Although Eddie knew he was in heaven he still had that sense of fear from being at battle when he got there. This Scene is important because it truly showed how terrifying it was to be at war and fighting for your life on a constant schedule. Eddie didn't even flick in this scene just went back to his roots and started to crawl to safety still having that sense of pure fear.

The Second Lesson

In this scene Eddie is talking to the Captain about the time Eddie got shot in the leg. The captain reveals that he was the one who shot Eddie. The reason he shot Eddie was because he didn't want Eddie to die going back into the house to save whoever was in there. Eddie then learned the meaning of sacrifices because although Eddie had lost his leg the captain ended up losing his life. Eddie learned that the only reason the captain shot him was for his own good.

The Second Lesson

In this scene the guys at the pier are now trying to figure out life without Eddie. The Pier had to shut down due to the death of Eddie. This scene is very sad because the guys are really missing eddie and life without him is though at work. Eddie was a leader at the pier and a lovable guy.

In the scene the captain is explaining to Eddie the importance of sacrifices. The captain had to sacrifice his life for the country, while Eddie was angry with his life after he lost his leg. Eddie then learns the importance of sacrifices and that they are a necessity to have a good life.

In this section of the book, the lesson here is revolving around Eddie's parents and how his father wasn't the best father growing up. The line shows that no matter how hard parents try they damage their kids but hopefully its in a small way. This Lesson really shows how Eddie's father although was a poor father, tried his best and had his own problems to deal with as revealed later in the book.

In this scene Eddie and the third person (Ruby) were watching a moment from Eddie's childhood that he never knew about. Mickey tried to rape Eddie's mother. This scene is important because it shows how mickey's character was very troubled. We later find out that he was a heavy drinker and that day he just lost his job causing him to drink more that day.

This scene is explaining the truth of how Eddie's father really died, Eddie always believed it was from his problem with drinking, but the truth was that Eddie's father saved mickey's life when he fell into the water drunk and couldn't save himself, Although mickey did a horrible thing Eddie's father still saved his friend.

This scene is the Third lesson in the book, Ruby is trying to show that although what happened between him and his father was bad, that Eddie has to forgive him. Just like how Eddie's father forgives mickey and saves his life. Forgiveness was the big lesson in this chapter and once Eddie truly forgave his dad, he finally came to peace with his father because he finally realized what his father went through while raising Eddie.
