(T)In this dialogue, Ikemefuna is shown as being disappointed at Okonkwo since he looked up to him as a father figure with a lot of respect. (B)Okonkwo raised Ikemefuna as a son and as a result Ikemefuna loved and respected Okonkwo as a father. Ikemefuna had to adjust from a new village into a new one and taken in as a part of the "family" of Okonkwo. (E) "I looked up to you as a father, loved you. How did this come to be my own father killed me!" (Jacklyn 1) (A) Ikemefuna being raised as a son of Okonkwo gave him the impression that Okonkwo also respected and loved Ikemefuna and would protect him like a father does. Okonkwo responds aggressively as he always is with Ikemefuna in order to keep the masculine picture of himself to Ikemefuna and not seem weak. Okonkwo also validates himself in the dialogue by saying that any man would've taken the same actions he did in addition to adding on to the fact that Ikemefuna wasn't his son, only a sacrafice.
