By:Junaid Mir and Edited By:Sarah Wang and Christine Guo
Ms Gulch tries to take Toto so Dorothy runs away with her dog,Toto. But when she is running away, she meets Professor Marvel. Professor Marvel shows her a crystal ball that shows the future and she decides to turn around and go back home. When, she gets home, her family members are in somewhere safe so she gets scared. A tornado sucks up Dorothy's house. When her house lands, she accidentally kills the Wicked Witch of The East, she steps out and realizes that she isn't in Kansas anymore. She meets a good witch named Glinda who introduces her to the Munchkins who live in the town. The Wicked Witch of the East's sister,The Wicked Witch of the West, comes to take her sister's precious ruby slippers. But Glinda makes Dorothy wear them. The Wicked Witch of the West says she'll come back for the ruby slippers. Dorothy says she wants to go home so Glinda tells her that she must meet The Wizard of Oz in The Emerald City and she needs to follow the yellow brick road. She meets a scarecrow,a Tin man,and a cowardly lion. The scarecrow wants a brain, the tin man wants a heart, and the lion wants some courage. When they reach the Emerald City,The Wizard of Oz says that he will only grant their wishes if they bring him the broomstick of the Wicked Witch of the West. When they defeat The Wicked Witch of the West,he tells the scarecrow that he has one to the scarecrow. Next,he tells him that he already has a warm heart to the tin man a heart, and finally,he says to the lion that he already has courage. But he is not able to grant Dorothy's wish so Glinda comes and tells Dorothy that she must click her heels three times and say "There is no place like home" three times. She did what Glinda told her to do and she arrives back in Kansas.

THE END!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

By:Alleen,Emma,and Nevetha

Movie:
Dorothy had her dog in the 1st song.Kansas is black and white in the beginning of the movie.Really small munchkins. There are lots of poppies in the field.A couple minutes later she had landed in the land of Oz. After she was exploring she found friends and a colour changing horse. There are less songs in the movie than the play. The songs are oringinal and made up.

           Play:
Dorothy got her dog back after she sang the first song.

         DIFFERENCES:
In the movie the evil witch appeared in a gust of red, smoky, fog. Also, the good witch appeared in a bubble. In the play, however, both the good witch and the evil witch appeared from behind the curtains. The movie buffered. The play, of course, did not buffer. In the movie, there are no ducks dancing at you. In the play, there was actually ducks dancing at you! Also, when Dorothy and the others got into Emerald City, there was a chariot that lead them to a free spa before they met the Wizard of Oz!

         SIMILARITIES:
Of course there were similarities for instance, they added
Dorothy,Tin Man,Lion and Scarecrow. There were also the same idea for the story, Dorothy runs away and finds and learns the true meaning of home, friends, and caring for each other. In the story and play Dorothy meets the character related to her family and friends
