Also ensures that the lesson is not too mundane for pupils.
3) Used of teacher-led or recorded videos to go through concepts or questions.
4) The use of the drawing tool to allow pupils to submit their working was useful for teachers to check understanding and give feedback.
5) Guidance from ST (Rong Huang) on how to better scaffold lessons on SLS.

Too many tracking documents, weekly SOW and links, customised SLS lessons, feedback etc to be updated from different sources. Good to include in one excel template only. Preparation workload in HBL already takes up a much longer time. Additional admin workload also takes up a lot of time when there is a need to go on to different sources to update links and provide inputs for all the lessons. If FBHL continues, may need to reconsider a more efficient and effective way to reduce admin workload for level, ict reps and teachers.

They have difficulties reading and understanding sometimes and they lack the motivations and skills to re-visit lessons or seek help even though helplines are available.

- Teachers taking time to design and customise lessons using various tools to collect feedback and evidence of learning from pupils. - Differentiate lesson content (include basic building blocks/ posing challenge based on learner profile, videos), process (scaffold understanding using multi-part question, audio, visual, captions, pacing, chunking lesson) and product (free-response, interactive thinking tool, video, image, drawing) as teacher understand best how your pupils learn.
Improvements
- Always be mindful in putting ourselves in the learner's shoes and select appropriate learning tools and giving instructions. Not too many interactive tools in one lesson or else pupils will be 'distracted'. Too much for pupils to handle (esp. the younger learners)
- Keep number of activities and video recordings within recommended duration. ~Meng Chee :)

Good HBL practices
- starting the lesson with WALT and a recap of the previous lesson is a good practice
- customizing lessons by the subject teachers is also a good way for teachers to touch base with their own pupils in their personalised way of learning
-there are some interactive tools within SLS itself that can be explored
-At the end of the day, I personally feel that it's not really about the various and numerous ICT tools that we use but it's about the quality of the 1 or 2 tools, the flow in every lesson and the 2-way interaction with pupils that matter

- Lesson Recordings allow pupils to learn at their own pace. I feel this would benefit more of our weaker pupils.
- Introducing a new tool, which can be fancy, takes effort to learn. Repeating tools and question types where possible can help pupils focus better on applying the relevant concept or skill. Including these considerations at the start of the topic can be more beneficial than changing things along the way.
For P2 Word Problems, my pupils took 1 or 2 days to start using the drawing tool for equations correctly. On lesson 2 of the unit, I reviewed how to use the drawing tool, and highlighted good HBL examples (idea from Jesslyn). The problem was mostly out of the way by lesson 3, where pupils simply used it to present their equations (and less to experiment with drawing).
- Some pupils may have difficulty understanding written instructions due to dyslexia. I suspect I have a student like that, and included mp3 recordings of all my instructions for one lesson. I found that she attempted more questions than the usual 'idk' or 'ok'. I find video and audio recordings to be useful for ensuring our lessons can be accessed by all students.

SLS interactive thinking tool very useful as I find many of my quieter pupils opening up through this tool. Downside is time spent reading and responding to each pupil. Also, tend to go back earlier lessons to check if there’s new comments or response to my comments. Parents very supportive.

AFI
Learning curve too steep for me as not IT savvy. Took longer time than my younger counterparts to customise or craft my HBL lessons. Hope for more handholding as would like to be more confident in this new norm especially in video conferencing through Zoom and google meet and e marking.
