         <title>SRA Specific Skills-independent administration</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Reading selections within each of the books help to build nine essential skills. The 5 skills covered for this school year are: word meanings, getting the main idea, drawing conclusions, detecting the sequence, and identifying inferences. There is one book per skill per grade tailored for each individual reading level, based on his/her assessed level. After each reading selection in the books, there are exercises or questions that test the featured skill.<br>The assessed reading levels range from Picture (Pre-Kindergarten) to H (8th grade).<br>SRA's Specific Skill Series instills key comprehension skills through extensive practice in one skill area at a time.<br>Each student is re-assessed at the end of each nine week period to determine the following placement for the next none weeks:<br>80% or higher-next grade level<br>70-79%-remain at the same level for the next nine weeks<br>below 70%-remediation at the previous level<br>Each unit represents a specific school week (i.e. Unit 1 = Lesson 1, Unit 25=Lesson 25)<br>This program is used for IEP progress monitoring <br><br></div>]]></description>
