David Bowie (C. J. Smith)

Bowie is probably one of the biggest influences on my music taste. He is sadly no longer with us but he has helped broaden my opinions in terms of music - something I learnt from him is, due to how many times he reinvented himself and his sound, I should always take at least two glances at something in terms of music before making a proper judgement - like I used to absolutely despise drum and bass, but Bowie completely changed my mind on it. Someone with so many years of experience in the music industry like him, venturing into the realm of D&B and making it cool in a way - it felt like the genre had his seal of approval. He opened my horizons.

I think that the Two-Step theory is great for spreading opinions to an even wider audience than the one that an opinion may reach by conventional methods alone; the endorsement of an opinion leader (in this case Bowie) means that it can reach many more people because opinion leaders and influencers are often trusted a lot more, especially in the present day, than the likes of the mass media.

However. Mass media are sometimes more accurate with their opinions, and an influencer could easily alter elements of what has been said to suit their own agenda if they wanted to.

Dianne is a very down to earth and genuine person, along with that I therefore respect her opinions and trust what she is saying. She is extremely real and honest with her followers (those she influencers most) and therefore her thoughts on topics she mentions are always believable, as if she weren't to enjoy something she would openly say. An advantage of the two step flow theory could be that when Dianne is promoting a product, or even wearing something it will instantly lead her followers into having interest in those particular brands. A negative of this theory could be that it then leads you into copying their opinions in everything which would result in you being a clone of that specific influencer.

Angelika oles is a youtube influencer who has two seperate channels, one for youtube drama and another for make up.

I respect her opinion because her views are often unbiased as she avoids talking to other youtubers/drama channels as to not be influenced herself by their friendship. Her make up reviews are also fair as she gives all products she tries a fair chance (eg using a good eyeshadow base)

One disadvantage is of the two step flow theory is subjectivity. Just because someone dislikes something or it doesn't work for them that doesn't mean it wont work for others. Especially when makeup is involved as there are many different skin types. Makeup often performs its best on one type of skin. If someone with dry skin tries an extremely matte foundation it might look crusty so they give it a negative review so you don't try it oblivious to the fact it would have looked amazing on oily or combination skin.

Matilda - Daz Black

Daz Black is a gaming and reaction YouTuber. He reacts to multiple different genres from music to horror. He plays simulators and popular games such as Uncharted and The Last Of Us.

I respect Daz because of his humour and love for his fans. He isn’t that popular and has 5.5M subs. Although he is so funny he can also be serious. He talks about issues such as suicide and bullying and how it affects so many people. Four years ago one of his subscribers commit suicide and their family allowed Daz to talk about it. I also respect him because he started from nothing, he had no money and his career started with Vine. He now has a successful career. He has helped me with so much that has gone on, especially over this past year and I’m grateful to be able to watch him.

Advantages are that he helps people with depression and he, more than other YouTubers I watch, connects with his viewers and he genuinely is a nice person and cares. By speaking out on issues he is educating his followers if any ages and teacher them that bullying is wrong and how to treat people. He has a sense of what is right and wrong. However, he speaks his mind and I do tend to agree with him but people may disagree and send hate to both him and his followers. Also, some of his content isn’t suitable for children, which he states multiple times, but people are still exposed to some of the sensitive subjects he reacts to.
