We ruled out floors 2 and 3 from the outbreak. The only possible thing that all infections have in common is that they came from the OR. The OR has tools that could have been the source of the infection.

Syringe and Needle Is a Possible Cause

The syringes and needles were delivered 2 weeks ago by the PLTW medical supply team. These tools were put in the OR and have been used by doctors on all 11 patients.

The most common infection that was found in the hospital was pneuomnia which is a respiratory infection.

Nurse 4 in the hospital was with multiple patients that all ended up having Hospital acquired infections. They were with the patients in the regular unit and the oncology unit.

Saline IV Delivery

The Saline IV was delivered 3 weeks ago by the PLTW Medical Supply team. All 9 of our patients were using this shipment of Saline IV. This could be a very big factor in this investigation.
