Soon after people started worrying if the Taliban was coming back, and then news that the owner of the Swat Continental Hotel, and member of the Peace Committee, Zahid Khan, had been shot by the Taliban.

Malala is occasionally ridiculed about a boy named Haroon, who once confessed his love for her, by children that play on steps near her house. Eventually she is fed up and has her brother bring the child in, and shouts at the child. He never mentions Haroon again.

What Happened Politically

Strangers from the intelligence services started coming to their house after the anonymous threat was released and questioned Malala’s father about his family and his fellow peace activists.

Malala states that she wished that being hassled by boys was her biggest problem. This shows that A. that she is mature and thinks that boy troubles are not very serious or lets them control her world. B. she has bigger issues like her education, campaigning of rights and peace, and staying safe from threats, and that she acknowledges the weight of these issues, how severe they are, and she takes them seriously.
