The white children were leaving the school because they couldn't speak the language all the new immigrants weer speaking. They were unable to learn anything because the teachers were going out of their way trying to teach the immigrants. The latino's were having trouble understanding what was wrong, they were scared because the white people were blaming them. They were just here to work and provide a better life for their family, it wasn't their fault they spoke a foreign language.

This means in order for the good relationship to come you must come to an agreement about why the relationship is bad. From there you can solve the conflict. She is saying through coversation we can come together and work out our issues.

Background info

The chatham soccer league was established as there was no real soccer league in chatham county. It was at first developed as a game for kids to play their sport and have fun. In later years it became more competitive and they established leagues for more experienced players. It was for all people in Chatham county. One thing that was really good about this league was that it was a lot cheaper than some of the more expensive ones. People who didnt have the money to play is the good leagues like CASL were able to still compete and participate with them through Chatham Soccer league. Coaches did the job for free which was very helpful and all in all it was a good thing to do.

Tolerance: ability to emotionally withstand any condition that makes life harder.

Today, tolerance can relate to many things, it can relate to how you tolerate certain emotions, how you control anger, but it really comes down to how well you can handle a bad situation.

Reading pages 95-98 shows that the writer didn't have a high tolerance level toward the "joke" of the coaches putting up the flyer. He didn't like it and it made him upset. This caused him to ask the coach to take it down. He already had to tolerate them having a hard time speaking english, he wasn't able to tolerate people making fun of the language.

1. The way I was brought up definitely will affect the rest of my life. It is not so much about where my parents came from as it is in Caudro's life. For me, the way parents brought me up will have a impact on the rest of my life. Caudros's father brought him up with a very strict set of ideals, these where: "stopping the ball, practicing the violin, and writing"(112). I was also told certain things by my parents, like always work hard, try your best at everything, and be respectful. These three things will be very helpful in my later life.

2. Medicaid is a healthcare option provided by the government to pay for medical expenses of families who make little income and can't afford Healthcare on their own. Many people on the soccer team weren't born in the united, therefore they didn't qualify for medicaid. Luckily, "his [Enrique] surgery bill would be completely paid for" (123). Medicaid and medicare have similar ideals but medicare is available only to elderly people above the age of 65, or people who are disabled. It is hard for undocumented Immigrants to apply or get medicaid because they are ineligible and therefore can't get it.

3. I agree with Caudros's statement being an ideal as well as a country. America can be considered a place of freedom, and freedom is often an ideal that many people dream of. Because America offers this freedom many people can think of it as more than just a country. Caudros's beleives being an american is, "that beat in your heart to be free, to be your own man, to have control over your own destiny" (133). This statement is true as it sums up some of America's ideals, and how important the freedom of people is.

I can completely understand how Lenin felt out of place at the office job he had. Even though it dealt with soccer and kids, two things he loved, he just didnt fit in with the other employees. If you cant fit in and work well with other employees it would be very hard to enjoy any job. He felt that people where "watching him as if he were a criminal"(154). Other people would keep him out of the loop and it was more like he was just someone who was there, doing his own thing, while everyone else just worked.

Lenin also kept saying "that job was too white for me Paul"(154). I dont think it is a matter of being too white for anyone. I think what he doesnt realize is the other people didn't really accept him as a coworker and didnt respect and treat him as they treated the others. This led him to think that the job was only for white people. I think he should have given a two week notice because it is the right thing to do, but I dont blame him for quitting.

I do know that the courthouse and some of the shops around the courthouse are very historic.

2. The Pittsboro courthouse was the first ever courthouse to be built in Chatham county. It was formed on January 6, 1787. It was a town formed because they separated chatham county and orange county. It use to be a place for huge textile business. Now a days it is dependent on commuter income. first people were legislative people here, they were considering Pittsboro as the capitol of the state.

3.

The other time was of the team winning.

Different groups are always represented different by the media. Some groups can be represented more or less with crime just because of the way they are stereotyped.

The media often supports stereotyping people by only showing certain stories or changing up information to make it seem worse than it really is. You will often see the media talk differently about different sterotypes of people.

1. Immigration isnt so much the issue, it is more of illegal immigration. This is an issue because it is boosting the population. It is causing people to get jobs in which they are being under the table and this hurts our economy because the government isn't receiving tax money from all of these people. We could end up with population problems like what china has if there is too much immigration. It will very much define my generation as many people will be more diverse and immigration is making my generation a lot different than it was in the past.

2. A big issue that defines my generation is the use of technology. Im not saying technology is a bad thing but I think people in my generation rely on it too much. Technology is so good now that we are starting to do everything electronically. Technology isnt always reliable and accurate and the more and more we rely on it for everything the more of a problem it can create. People are using technology more and more and not using the old ways to do some things.

3.
