Asking herself what they took away today that they will or will not have to go over again tomorrow.<br><br>Some of her go-to assessments are:<br>-exit tickets because the quick assessment is the best assessment<br>-peer assessments<br>-whiteboards<br><br>Going slow to go fast because there is never too much procedure is an important thing to keep in mind.<br><br>Teaching for the smiles is so important. One of her students thanked her for teaching them something that they had never thought about. Seeing students come back to school again and again and seeing them beginning to understand things makes it so worth it.<br><br></div>]]></description>

Her goal is to make sure that every student grows each year, and it's not all about the content.<br><br>Some of her go-to assessments are:<br>-white boards<br>-learning continuum<br>-show what you know<br>-small group instruction to make it more fluid<br><br>Collaboration with the team is the most effective because they always work better together.<br><br>There are so many stories that you go home with and so many lives that you get to make an impact on. Having past students come back and tell you that you were their favorite teacher is such an amazing feeling and it makes it all worth it.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>She defined assessment as having a wide range from very informal just on observation all the way to standardized assessment.<br><br>Some of her go-to assessments are:<br>-running records<br>-FMP's<br><br>Don't focus on the negative talk that people have on education and just surround yourself with the good.<br><br>Believing and your students when no one else (sometimes even including themselves) believes in them is so important. Once students start to believe in themselves, they will start to grow. Even if you have a bad day, moving past that and focusing on how to change it into a better day helps you and your students be the most successful that you and them can be.<br><br></div>]]></description>

This allows you to understand what you need to work on and what you have mastered.<br><br>Some of her go-to assessments are:<br>- rubrics (made by yourself to match expectations for performance)<br>-thumbs up thumbs down<br>-white boards<br>-exit slips<br><br>It is important to know that we don't need massive amounts of homework or in-class work, but rather use formative assessment to quickly identify what area students are struggling with so that we can adjust our instruction.<br><br>Teaching for kids and caring deeply about them is so important. Giving students an opportunity to be successful is very unique.</div>]]></description>

The kindergarteners spend the first month working on practicing routines.<br><br>Setting work and home life balance is so important so that you aren't lacking for either.<br><br>Teaching is not for everyone, but everyone needs a great teacher. Dividing and conquering to use strengths to the best of your ability is the best way to make planning the most effective.<br><br>It's all about the impact and how important this job is. Your impact goes a long way, regardless of what your or your students' ages are.<br><br>We need to teach because these kids need us. This is lasting work that we get to shape our future in and make that positive impact on your students' lives.</div>]]></description>
