In chapter one it discussed how important it is for students to be successful and finish high school. In order for students to be successful teachers need to be vigilante in the way they teach. Teachers should teach to each student instead of just the classroom. It is very important that students are able to receive one on one time as well as whole class instruction.

Chapter two was about the mindset of the teachers, students, and parents. It is crucial that the teachers understand what the students are thinking. If teachers understand the students then they will be able to help the students understand the concepts easier. Teachers also need to understand the parents so they will be able to talk to them easier.

This chapter defined the expert teacher and the difference between the expert teacher and the experienced teacher. The expert teacher knows how to present their subject in a way all students will understand it. They create a high climate or learning. They are able to monitor their students. They all believe their students can become successful. They are able to influence deep student outcomes. Expert teachers are able to dig deep into their students and experienced teachers only scratch the surface.
