Most of my Spanish for Spanish speakers students prefer speaking English than Spanish. Before teaching this lesson about the protection of the environment, I used the Strategy Build from primary language to English to connect them to the content vocabulary I was going to teach in Spanish, except that I built from English to Spanish because they all know the vocabulary in English, but not in Spanish. I probed two classes, and none one could tell me Environment in Spanish.
