Mr. Pikus is also the founder and head of the not-for-profit program Kids Do Care, Ltd., which exposes children to the human aspects of military service through encouraging letter writing and correspondence. Representing a groundbreaking partnership between elementary school systems across the country and the U.S. armed forces, it gives both children and soldiers a chance to share personal experiences through visits by military members to classrooms. Mr. Pikus’ program also provides elementary school teachers with ways of assisting their students in writing personal greeting cards and letters that express their appreciation for the courage and sacrifices made by members of the us armed forces. The cards and letters are forwarded by Kids Do Care to those who are active in serving their country abroad, as well as soldiers who have suffered injuries in the line of duty. Community involved, Jeffrey Pikus has also co-chaired a fundraising event that raised money for Hale House. The nonprofit provides members of the community who were forced to leave abusive homes and now require housing and other support. When away from work, Jeffrey Pikus is an avid sports fan.
