According to FIFA, the world governing body of football, the contemporary history of the game began in 1863 in England, when rugby football and association football "branched off on their different courses" and the English Football Association (the FA) was formed as the sport's first governing body. Until the 19th century, football had been played in various forms using a multiplicity of rules under the general heading of "folk football". From about the 1820s, efforts were made at public schools and at the University of Cambridge to unify the rules. The split into two codes was caused by the issue of handling the ball.
The world's oldest football clubs were founded in England from 1789 and, in the 1871–72 season, the FA Cup was founded as the world's biggest first organised competition. The first international match took place in November 1872 when England travelled to Glasgow to play Scotland. The quality of Scottish players was such that northern English clubs began offering them professional terms to move south. At first, the FA was strongly opposed to professional and that gave rise to a bitter dispute from 1880 until the FA relented and formally legitimised professionalism in 1885. A shortage of competitive matches led to the formation of the Football League by twelve professional clubs in 1888 and the domestic game has ever since then been based on the foundation of league and cup football.

Rugby was born in England and quickly spread to other countries. Although completely different from what we know today, rugby was from the beginning a sport where physical contact and playing with the ball were rewarded. In the Middle Ages, “carnival football” emerged, from which modern rugby would later evolve, it was quite violent games that were even suspended by royal decree for several decades. This sport also began to be practiced in France, as in Ireland, Scotland and Italy, and always with different names but with the same background.
Modern rugby began to develop in private schools in England. Shortly after, the first rules were established to be able to play, since previously in each town and even in each town there were different rules, which always caused tough confrontations between the players. The first rules of rugby were established by three students, William Delafield Arnold, W.W. Shirley, and Frederick Hutchins in 1885, and established a regulation made up of 37 rules that constituted the birth of modern rugby. One of the most controversial rules was the one that allowed tripping the player carrying the ball, or hitting him in the shins, but they did not allow the option of kicking him (hack), once he was on the ground, a rule completely out of place in modern rugby, where Fair Play reigns.
Currently, rugby is considered a sport where fair play prevails and where several rules of conduct have been established to avoid violent actions. In one of them, the following rule of conduct is clearly established: "the action of exerting extreme physical pressure on an opponent in an attempt to obtain possession of the ball is perfectly acceptable, but not to harm voluntarily or maliciously".
In England, the national league is one of the most powerful at European level along with those of France and Ireland. It is very common for the main national newspapers to allocate a large number of pages dedicated to this sport with such a powerful national league. The professional league in England known as Aviva Premiership was born in 1987 and has changed its name several times for sponsorship reasons. The last league champion is the Leicester Tigers, a team that is also the most awarded with a total of 9 titles.
Without a doubt, one of the oldest competitions in the world of sport is the Six Nations rugby tournament that is currently being played. England, France (current champion), Ireland, Scotland, Wales and Italy make up the tournament

It has existed since 2013, when the Scottish Premier League and the Scottish Football League merged into the SPFL. The top tier of Scottish football is traditionally home to one of the world's most famous football rivalries, between Rangers and Celtic. Together the two clubs are known as the Old Firm, by virtue of the profitability of their rivalry. Rangers have won more top-flight, national league championships than any other club in the world (54 titles).[16] Celtic were the first non-Latin and first team from Great Britain to win the European Cup, in 1967. The Old Firm rivalry was interrupted in 2012, when the company running Rangers went into liquidation and the club was forced to restart in the fourth tier of Scottish Football. The rivalry was resumed in September 2016, after Rangers had been promoted into the Scottish Premiership.

Association football is one of the most popular sports in Wales, Wales has produced club teams of varying fortunes since the early birth of football during the Victorian period, and in 1876 a Wales national football team played their first international match. Football has always had a close rivalry with the country's de facto national sport rugby union, and it is much discussed as to which is Wales' more popular game. The Football Association of Wales (FAW), was established in 1876 to oversee the Wales national team and govern the sport in Wales, later creating and running the Welsh football league system.

Welsh professional club teams traditionally played in the same leagues as their English counterparts, structured into regional divisions. This often resulted in teams from north and south Wales not facing each other as the transport links between the two regions were poor. In 1992 theCymru Premier was formed to create a national league. Five Welsh clubs refused to join, but despite this the teams that come top of the Cymru Premier have a greater chance of playing in European competition, as the top three clubs are drawn into the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League. They also have the opportunity to compete in the Welsh Cup, the most prestigious cup competition in Welsh football.

The Irish Cup was inaugurated in the 1880–81 season, with seven clubs taking part. The draw for the first round took place on 10 January 1881, with the first round being played on 5 February 1881. The trophy was first awarded to Moyola Park when they beat Cliftonville 1–0 in the final at Cliftonville Cricket Ground, Belfast on 9 April 1881. Since its inception, the Irish Cup has always been, and continues to be, considered the most important such competition in Northern Ireland , second only to the NIFL Premiership. The cup final is the climax of the domestic season in Northern Ireland and usually attracts the biggest attendance of any club match.

Since the inception of the Irish Football League in 1890–91 (and excluding the First and Second World War years when the League was suspended), the Cup has been won by Irish League clubs on every occasion except three famous ‘giant-killing’ occasions when "junior" clubs beat senior opponents in the final: in 1928, Willowfield beat Larne 1–0; in 1955, Dundela beat Glenavon 3–0; and in 1976, Carrick Rangers beat Linfield 2–1. In the early years, Army regiments stationed in Ireland entered teams such as King's Own Rifles (Cork), three of which reached the final: the Gordon Highlanders in 1890, the Black Watch (Limerick) in 1892 and the Sherwood Foresters (Curragh, County Kildare) in 1897. The Gordon Highlanders were the only Army team to win the Cup.

However, the majority of Welsh football clubs play in the Welsh football league system.

Wales has always had a national football team that plays in major professional tournaments, though not in the Olympic Games. This is due to the International Olympic Committee recognising the United Kingdom as the representative side, and not Wales, Scotland, England or Northern Ireland.

The Scotland national football team represents Scotland in men's international football and is controlled by the Scottish Football Association. It competes in the three major professional tournaments, the FIFA World Cup, UEFA Nations League and the UEFA European Championship. Scotland, as a country of the United Kingdom, is not a member of the International Olympic Committee and therefore the national team does not compete in the Olympic Games. The majority of Scotland's home matches are played at the national stadium, Hampden Park.

Scotland is the joint oldest national football team in the world, alongside England, whom they played in the world's first international football match in 1872. Scotland has a long-standing rivalry with England,[5] whom they played annually from 1872 until 1989. The teams have met only seven times since then, most recently in June 2017.

Scotland have qualified for the FIFA World Cup on eight occasions and the UEFA European Championship twice, but have never progressed beyond the first group stage of a finals tournament. The last major tournament they qualified for was the 1998 World Cup. The team have achieved some noteworthy results, such as beating the 1966 FIFA World Cup winners England 3–2 at Wembley Stadium in 1967. Archie Gemmill scored what has been described as one of the greatest World Cup goals ever in a 3–2 win during the 1978 World Cup against the Netherlands, who reached the final of the tournament.[6] In their qualifying group for UEFA Euro 2008, Scotland defeated 2006 World Cup runners-up France 1–0 in both fixtures.

Scotland supporters are collectively known as the Tartan Army. The Scottish Football Association operates a roll of honour for every player who has made more than 50 appearances for Scotland. Kenny Dalglish holds the record for Scotland appearances, having played 102 times between 1971 and 1986. Dalglish scored 30 goals for Scotland and shares the record for most goals scored with Denis Law.

Make sure you know what you're talking about since it's clearly Wikipedia-copied information. Are you interested in ALL that you copied there? You can concentrate on two/three things from each sport and talk about that. Then, it must all be visual: photos of clothing at the time, teams, flags, equipment used, any series makes reference to that? which one? search!
