Young people will get a chance to experience what life is like on a building site and get to take part in practical activities like joinery, painting and decorating and bricklaying. The young people have been based between Carnbroe (Morgan Sindall site) Knowledge HUB undertaking CWR, CSCS training and various awareness qualifications and Bishopbriggs Training Academy working on their practical skills. This is to give young people the best mix of theory and practical training prior to starting placement on a live site. 
Over the course of this week all young people on the programme will sit their CSCS touch screen tests and will then be progressing to start 4 week placements starting on the 20thMarch.

A young person can start their Tigers journey in their senior phase at high school and complete a Foundation Apprenticeship in Business Skills. Once they have completed their FA they could progress onto a Modern Apprenticeship in either Business Administration and tailor the qualification to the sector they are working in such as HR or they can complete a Digital Marketing apprenticeship. Sophia has not only been working with the children, but she has also been coaching other members of the team to develop their knowledge on outdoor play and the benefits that not only to the children but to the adults in their life.

Vocational education is synonymous with experiential learning; our young people gain practical industry skills and knowledge which are invaluable for progressing in their chosen careers.  Vocational education gently introduces our young people to the world of work, helping them to build confidence in their own abilities, understand their strengths and identify any challenges particular to them.  If this is what Vocational Education can do for an individual then that surely must be of benefit within the classroom?  With a better understanding of self and how we learn, with increased self confidence and belief in our abilities, Vocational Education becomes an excellent teacher, companion and friend to its mainstream counterpart.

We wanted to provide something ‘diverse’ to the SVQ qualifications and bring variability, enjoyment and fun while undertaking a Modern Apprentice. In October 2022 we launched our Enhanced Apprenticeship in Play and Attachment @SCQF Level 7 and SCQF Level 9 to bring our re-imagined delivery to life. Our initiative was created to support Social Services and Early Years communities to grow and flourish. We believe all Modern Apprentices starting their learning journey should understand the value of quality care, and the importance of relationships as they step forward and begin their career in social services and early years. 
In partnership with a host of Resident Trainers, monthly workshops offer a wealth of knowledge, skill and practice to enrich potential and possibility as Modern Apprentices grow and build on their own practice.
Tigers Early Years Team have a wealth of experience and knowledge within Social Services and Early years sectors, we advocate to support, guide and encourage skills, knowledge and expertise through our Relationship-Led Practice Model. We recognise that significant learning and development only happens in the presence of secure, positive relationships.

In the same week we had an invitation to quote work in Edinburgh from one of our contractor partners, TOPEK and the opportunity to submit a quote for Mitie – one of the largest Facilities Management companies in the UK. With a strong performance over the last 6 months, group support and a strategic approach to grown we are  confident that 2023/24 will bring an increase in operations across both residential and commercial sectors.
