Malala response was speechless, “she tried to talk but remembered [she] couldn’t (145). Showing how she wanted to respond was out of the question. “It doesn’t matter what [she] looked like [she] was alive and [she] was thankful” (145). This reveals that Malala didn’t care about her appearances, and is just thankful that she is alive. :)

Malala wishes she was in a “simple schoolroom with no computers” and technology but soon she started to get used to it (179). This reveals she wishes how things were how they used to be.

Realizes:

Malala realizes that she doesn’t have any money to call home, and talk to her parents. Feeling that she needed to buy a phone and call her family to tell them she was alive.

That shows about Malala:

Despite her condition and all her pain she thinks “[she] needs to go out and start working to earn money so [she] can buy a phone and call [her] family” (140). Malala realized though she couldn’t move and desperately asked her doctor for hers.
