Obesity has a lot to do with social, because imagine if all your friends eat junk food all the time, and maybe their way to do exercise is better or they actually do something, and you are there eating junk food, that can lead to obesity. Also, obese people turn to be very introverts.

Sometimes obese people turn obese because they have emotional issues such as the death of a family member or a friend, and rely of food for comfort, the so called comfort foods for example chocolate. Also, it can lower their self-esteem and make them loose opportunities for doing things since they feel bad about themselves.

Obese people sometimes need to buy two seats in airplanes or in buses, because they don't fit. This leads to social problems, and sometimes they don't have a healthy food environment. The obesity epidemic is a program about how communities environmental factors have contributed to the obesity epidemic, as well as other communities take initiatives to prevent and reduce it.

Everyone's at risk. Although it can be prevented, its also in genetics. Genetic changes in human populations occur too slowly to be responsible for the obesity epidemic. Adults can be obese, children under 5, children over 5-19. It has a energy imbalance between calories consumed and expended. People who have money can sometimes abuse from this and buy more and more food. In a place where resources are difficult to find, you wouldn't find that many obese people.
