It is an essential tool in the fight against human trafficking and for spreading awareness. This article is published on behalf of the Durham Police so the information that was provided has been collected or reflected upon in the Durham Region. </p><p><br></p><p>This article discusses how human trafficking is a criminal process where individuals exploit others for economic gain, often through forced labor services. This article covers the warning signs of someone who has been human trafficked, discussing the most common actions, words, and body language displayed by someone who has been involved or is currently involved in human trafficking. The most interesting point brought up in this article was the stages of sex trafficking; recruitment and grooming, segregation, control, and the isolation stages. Lastly, who is at risk of human trafficking is covered. </p>]]></description>

It draws attention to a number of trafficking situations, including the "lover-boy" scam and connections to organized crime. The necessity of comprehensive anti-trafficking measures, which as programs for victim care, intervention, and prevention, is significantly empathized during this article. </p><p><br></p><p>This article follows trafficking survivor Caroline Pugh-Roberts. She talks about how Ontario has the second-highest number of incidences of human trafficking in Canada. She also brings up the point that the pandemic has made the problem worse, increasing the prevalence of family trafficking and organized crime groups. According to Statistics Canada's data, 67% of recorded incidents which largely harm women and girls occur in Ontario, highlighting the province's high incident rate. </p>]]></description>

It highlights how online platforms contributes to the sex and human trafficking and offers helpful advice on how to keep oneself and others safe. It demonstrated how common internet recruitment methods are, such as looking for susceptible people through internet advertising. Lastly, it draws attention to how crucial it is for people to report suspicious activity and maintain community vigilance. </p><p><br></p><p>This article discussed how human traffickers entice victims and seek victims by using a variety of internet methods. They utilize either passive or offensive tactics; strong privacy settings on social media, decline friend requests, refrain from sharing too much personal information, and be wary of job postings. Since traffickers frequently use alluring language to trick potential victims, awareness and attention are essential in the fight against human trafficking. </p>]]></description>

This video is an effective call to action. </p><p><br></p><p>This video shows the truth about human trafficking. It explains how a teenager can be quickly human or sex trafficked. This video talks about how young women come to being trafficked, what the signs look like, and how one can be easily manipulated. It also explains how a trafficker controls the victim; when they can eat, sleep, go out, and have basic human rights. It continues to talk about the signs of human trafficking; new, expensive clothing, secretive social life, and falling grades. It follows two young ladies telling their stories and experiences while being in Jeffery Epstein's home.
