As an educator we need to be willing to reflect and learn from each lesson, class and school year. Reflecting and looking back on ways to improve or make changes to things that just did not work out well is huge in this field. Every school year is going to be a new challenges and we have to adjust accordingly. I am on my second year of teaching and it has been more challenging then my first year. But I also did start my second year of teaching after the first quarter.

1. As a teacher, I must ensure that my epistemological approach is fair, student-centered, and fosters equitable learning opportunities.

As an educator I have to make sure to create a fair and student centered learning environments because it will lead to engagement and comfortable for students.

Students taking responsibility of their learning is a goal to have because we have to teach students to learn from their mistakes and find the correct answers. So making sure students feel safe and comfortable in the class room can lead to this.

We all have our own beliefs and so do our students but as an educator we have to insure our beliefs do not get in the way of our students learning needs. We have to keep our beliefs unbiased and let students make their own decisions.

Sometimes we have students who have behavior issues but instead of getting upset we should look into digging deeper to understand the beliefs of that student. We do not always know what is happening in our students lives outside of the classroom.

Teachers are life time learners. Technology and curriculum are constantly changing and we have to adapt. Plus as a new teacher we continuously get observe and get feedback. That feedback is what we can learn and grow from. I love hearing what I can improve on because I am new to this field.

5. As a teacher, I may need to reevaluate some of my beliefs if they are holding any of my students back.

Sometimes we may not notice but our beliefs may get in the way of our students and that cannot happen. So as educators we need to reevaluate our beliefs and make changes accordingly. Our job is to provide the best for our students and in order to do so we have to be aware of our beliefs and influences.
