El Saadawi is an Egyptian female writer, who's works focus mostly on the state of women's rights in Middle Eastern countries. She wrote the acclaimed novel "Woman at Point Zero" while doing research for a psychology study she was conducting. Saadawi's dedication to women's rights and representation led to her eventual arrest for publishing "inflammatory" articles in an Egyptian newspaper. After her release Saadawi moved to the United States, where her work quickly brought her to the limelight. Saadawi's work provides a rare insight into the view's of Islamic women, and highlight the injustices committed against them.
