My theme for the book Home plate Heist getting support from friends and family can help a person regain confidence. First of all his family helped him regain confidence by cheering for him in the game. I know when I hear someone cheering for me it helps me hit better. Another good example is when his family teaches him how to steal bases. Every night after school his family teaches Fernando how to steal bases. My final example is the next day Fernando’s team play the yellow jackets and Fernando gets on base, then he watches the pitcher and waits for the right moment to steal the base, and he steals the base. To me this shows how Fernando regained his confidence. The following evidence of cheering on a person, practicing, and stealing bases clearly shows that Fernando regains his confidence.

Summary At the beginning of the book, Jack does not like poetry. I know this because On page 3 Jack says he does not understand poetry. In the middle of the book, Jack is starting to gain confidence, I know this because the teacher uses his poem as an example. In the middle of the book, Jack doesn't want to put his name on it but still lets the teacher use his poem. In the end, he likes poetry because he was inspired by Mr. Walter Dean Myers he wrote a poem called Love That Dog and he put his name on the poem
