There is plenty of hypocrisy found in the article "Donald Trump's immigration hypocrisy." One example of this is the fact that Donald Trump believes that immigrants shouldn't be allowed into this country, yet Donald Trump is married to an immigrant who may or may not have even entered the country legally. In the text it says "his (Donald Trump's) Slovenian-born wife, Melania, entered the country in the mid-1990s and obtained a green card several years before they were married in 2005. Those questions persist, the Trump campaign has refused to answer them, and no such news conference has occurred."

Hypocrisy in Chains

Hypocrisy in Chains by Laurie Halse Anderson is present for sure, and there are tons of details to support this claim. For example, on page 166 of Chains the slaves discuss how the British promise freedom to slaves but will not give freedom to the white rebels. Keep in mind that white rebels were far more superior to slaves back in the time Chains, so this probably means that the British are unlikely to give freedom to anybody, which shows hypocrisy because the British say that they will do one thing but don't. This is supported by the text on page 166 when it says, "The British promise freedom to slaves but won't give it to the white rebels."

Similar hypocrisy and different hypocrisy in Donald Trump's immigration hypocrisy and Chains

First off, lets find out what makes the article and Chains similar when it comes to hypocrisy. To begin, in the article Donald Trump says that we as people shouldn't allow immigrants to come into our country yet Trump allows immigrants to work for him and he even has a wife that came as an immigrant into our country. Hypocrisy like this is similar to that found in Chains because people do and say things that others shouldn't do, yet they do the things they say not to do to others. For example in chapter 5 of Chains , Elihu Lockton says, "We thought you were in London, Elihu."

"London? Never!" exclaimed Lockton. "England offers us nothing but taxes, stamps, and bloodshed."

"How odd. Word from Boston is that you still lick the King's boots." Elihu is basically saying that he is a Patriot and that he would never be a Loyalist, yet he is a Loyalist to the King. There are some differences between the article and Chains such as the fact that the people in Chains do or act certain ways just to get others approval, while Donald Trump's hypocrisy sparked a lot of controversy
