Plants are needed for human life and how we take care of the environment as a society reflects how plants will grow. Plants are necessary for food and medicine. They are also needed for materials and resources. Our society needs to prioritize the care of the environment so plants can grow healthy. They not only provide us with life but animas as well. I chose this picture mainly because it looks like the person is planting a tree, which provides us oxygen to breathe, showing the important bond between two different forms of life; humans and plants.

I chose this video mainly because the song is very catchy. It explains the photosynthesis process in a very simple way. Plants are able to make their own food/energy called glucose (sugar) through this process. The plant absorbs water through it's roots, CO2 through small pores in it's leaves, and sunlight through the chlorophyll cells. The plant also then releases oxygen into the air.

The Betula Megrelica is an Angiosperm because it is a flowering plant that produces seeds. It is found only in Georgia, confined to the Causcasus mountains. This unique birch has been growing for nearly 15 million years and is endangered from farming and forestry.

The rainforest biome is in the most danger of ecological change. Deforestation and forest degradation from fire and logging are reducing the rainforest's transpiration. That moisture is needed for the amazon basin, the area of land that drains into the river. In 2010 the amazon experienced an extreme drought that released 500 million tons of carbon into the atmosphere. Entire rivers were desiccated. Liang Xu of Boston university did a study and found that the "vegetation decreased dramatically over an area more than three and one half times the size of Texas". These ecological changes are weakening the resilliance of the rainforest ecosystem.

A direct effect of the neolithic revolution on human life is agricultural expansion. The orange centers of origin of food reproduction are where the plants were found native. The yellow areas are the most productive agricultural areas of the modern world, meaning different plants were domesticated in different areas of the world and started to domesticate more rapidly in the new conditions of the new area. This led to the spread of agriculture all over the world and people learned what plants grew best in what niches. This also allowed for humans to begin trading.

Pickling became a new preservation innovation during the third agricultural revolution. This process is done by anaerobic fermentation in brine, salt water substance, or with being stored in vinegar. This can preserve perishable foods such as meats, fruits, eggs, and vegetables for months. The natural Ph levels in the solution kill of the bacteria. I chose this innovation because without it we would never have delicious pickles!

While it is a part of the fungi family, I believe that yeast (Schizosaccharomyces pombe)
is the most influential natural substance. It's conversion of carbohydrates produces alcohol which has been produced and used around the world for centuries. It has also been used for baking, such as breads in particular.

This is what I believe the world would look like in the future due to the Industrial factors involved in plant growth such as the manufacturing plants and transportation methods that give off emissions contributing to green house gases. It also represents the increase in factory farming. While not shown in the picture I also think there will be a loss of honeybees due to the increased use of pesticides. This could be a very dangerous future for plants and humans!
