Looking forward to the session today, hoping to expand my knowledge of Connecting people, how we can use in practice to promote improved outcomes for individuals. Angela

Link with AAP to develop links with Teams to support in knowledge of what is available in AAP areas.
think we need to consider how we will deliver to wider audience

Need to consider rolling out of training to who and how? Priority areas, the more people I speak to the more I can see this model working in different areas with positive outcomes. Need to consider how we support the sustained approach, do we need to have group/reflective supervision so that workers can bring issues/good practice to the group.

Thanks
To consider for next session -
Changing the expectations of service users that practitioners have all the answers

Hi Martin,
Looking forward to understanding more about Connecting People tools and thinking about how they can be used by the different parts of our service.

Have started to unpick this issue and need more thought when we develop our training plan...

Over next 2 weeks:
Discuss in Focus on Practice Forum 10th Sept

Update 16-9-20:
FoP forum went well. Ideas well received. Lots of useful discussion around asset based approaches & alternative support networks moving away from traditionally commissioned services.
Angela has also continued to network with our internal and external partners, aligning approaches and work wherever possible.

For future training roll out, we need to define within annual plan, assign sessions/ time frames to trainers, agree materials, format and platform. Also need to think about how we will measure the impact of the training on our practice/ outcomes/ commissioning behaviours.

Hi Martin. Apologies for the delay - I was in meetings all morning so just had a chance to access this. Really enjoyed the training this afternoon. I was hoping to gain more knowledge of Connecting People and I feel your presentation was very informative. Moving forward it would be good to look at addressing the barriers that might be faced and how these can overcome. Ideas of how to do this could be through group supervision sessions, practice development groups, information sessions with the teams (to include nursing staff) and promoting such through the Think Ahead students for example. Looking forward to the next session! Kayleigh

In terms of implementing Connecting People, in mental health teams Racheal and I hold regular group supervision sessions and also hold a Practice Development Group where we can feed this information to staff. We also oversee the Think Ahead students and newly qualified social workers so can monitor the implementation of this during 1:1 supervision. I think the challenges will be staff having the time to attend training and implement into practice when they have high caseloads and moving forward how we monitor and review the implementation of Connecting People in practice. Looking forward to today's session! Kayleigh
