I agree to Jaden's quote from the Inforgraph. This is because my answer connects to the fact that the U.S. does receive a lot of different products. This is beneficial because it expands our markets to other items we aren't able to produce over here. Also, by selling all of these products we receive, we get a lot of profit from that.-Anahi Cendejas

In my opinion, NAFTA was economically beneficial to the United States given the fact that we did receive a lot of products. The infograph notes how “$21.8 billion from Canada and $21.9 billion from Mexico of agricultural products was shipped to the U.S. in 2015” (Infographic). This just gives to show how we receive a lot and from those products it becomes money, basically giving us all of the profit. Not only that, but different products are also being put in markets, which benefits us because it gives us the opportunity to to receive more profit and benefit from the products.“countries specializing in different types of work, greater efficiency and more production of products and services” (Where ) -Anahi Cendejas

No, NAFTA is not fixable because regardless of what adjustments they do, NAFTA will always affect someone negatively. For example, “Labor protections have done nothing to protect them” (Infographics). This quote represents how no one has done nothing to stop the child labor being done. If they're not doing anything to stop child labor right now when everything is worse then what makes you think they will address the situation after making some minor changes. No matter what people will still suffer, they won get paid enough, and kids will continue to lose their education day after day. -Anahi Cendejas

To start off the article “Where NAFTA Succeeded and Where it Failed” it states, “...viewed the agreement as a way for corporations to increase their profits at the expense of the ordinary citizens of the countries involved” (Where 2). Corporation will only benefit from NAFTA, at the cost of poor treatment for workers. So NAFTA is not worth the benefits because people will always end up being exploited because of it.

Going back to what Danny said about how out of all three countries the U.S. benefits the most. Yes, I do agree with Danny because NAFTA doesn't necessarily hurt the U.S.This is because they do receive a lot of profit and consumers get the products they want and need. “$21.8 billion from Canada and $21.9 billion from Mexico of agricultural products was shipped to the U.S. in 2015” (Infographic). Not only that, but consumers benefit from it too given the fact that products such as clothes is sold cheaper to us and we don have to use up a lot of money. If the question were to ask if NAFTA hurts Mexico then I would have a different opinion on it, but it specifically talks about the U.S.

No, the costs of NAFTA aren’t worth the benefits because the benefits outweigh the costs. This is due to the fact that NAFTA, “May help only a small minority of the population, like business owners” (Where 1). People don’t really benefit from NAFTA and in Mexico it makes it worse for them. From child labor to low pays and horrible working conditions, I don’t really see how it benefits us as people. However, I do see how much it hurts us as adults, teens, and children. The only benefits involve money but is money really worth the education of your children, or the better life they would've received?

NAFTA caused many people to lose their jobs, or they were forced to accept lower wages in order to keep their own job. In the text, 10 Pivotal Pros & Cons, it states " This leaves them no choice but to cut the wages of workers who were forced to remain in the factories with lower pay and no representation from labor unions than lose their jobs" (Pivotal 1). This says that people either lost their job or got their wages cut shorter. _ Antonio Gutierrez

NAFTA more so hurts the United States because, people who are not rich and powerful, like business owners, they get affected, It only helps the big companies, not the people. People who are rich get richer, and the poor get poorer. My evidence is "“NAFTA has helped the ultra rich increase their wealth while marginalizing the working poor in Mexico”(Costs 1). NAFTA helped the people who don’t need, and affected the ones who needed money.- Antonio Gutierrez

NAFTA is corrupt because it is not fixable I think its corrupted because, if it were to be modified, it would just shift something else, and it’ll create more chaos. That is why it is a broken system that doesn’t help all, but just some. The ones who have power get more, and the ones with no power get less. Not everyone can benefit from this broken system.- Antonio Gutierrez

NAFTA.According to the Text,( Pros and Cons of NAFTA) it is stated, “Continuous deforestation activities can have a long term impact on the environment” (Pivotal 1).
