Ancient India is usually called the Harappan Civilization. Ancient India dates to 5000 BCE and grew through the years. It is called this because one of the cities was called Harappa. In the Indus River there was about 1500 cities. One of the biggest of all four early civilizations is to estimated to be Ancient India. This civilization was not found until the 1920’s, a lot of the remains a mystery. Many historians have not been able to translate their written language. Archeologists have found that remains were well planned out and believe that each major city could have 80,000 people.

I think the most significant achievement that Ancient India had was the drainage system. To have this at there time is really amazing and to build building and roads along it was very advanced for the time. House drains were emptied into drains that would go under main roads. They had inspection traps and main holes to see into them. Every house had its own soak-pit which allowed only water to flow through.
