President Nixon was involved in a scandal known as the Watergate Scandal. Watergate is a general term to describe the complex "web" of political scandals between 1972 and 1974, it also refers to the Watergate Hotel in Washington D.C. A group of burglars broke into the Watergate Hotel.
Nixon's use of presidential power was trying (and failing) to use executive privilege to try and cover up his connection with the burglaries into the Republican Office. I do not agree with this use of executive privilege because it was undertook to protect the president from a crime that involved cheating to win the next election.
