According to “The Life of Pi” it states, “I did not grasp all these details—and many more—right away. They came to my notice with time and as a result of necessity. I would be in the direst of dire straits, facing a bleak future, when some small thing, some detail, would transform itself and appear in my mind in a new light.” This piece of evidence shows the lack of confidence Pi has about his live compared to Keesh in “The Story of

These animals are conflicts because they can hurt Pi in any time. Richard is 450 pounds and he is taking most of the space in the boat. In the text it states "in the face of such a superior predator, all of us were prey." Pi could not do anything to fend off against the tiger nor the hyena. Pi was the underdog in the situation. Another conflict Pi goes against is the lack of food and water. Pi was stranded in the pacific ocean with a boat and he was hungry and thirsty. In the text it states "i believe it was this that saved my life that morning, that i was quite literally dying of thirst." By Pi being in need of supplies he has to take stocks in the boat. Which ment he had to confront the tiger and the hyena. One major conflict to Pi also goes against is himself. Pi has lost all hope on surviving.
