Please reflect on the following questions: - 1. What did you learn about the topic of advertising and ad pitches? 2. What did you learn about perspective and bias in advertising?
3. How aware are you as a consumer? What are advertisers really trying to sell you? Don't forget to write your name at the bottom of your response.

1. I learned that before advertisers create their ads, they put a lot of research and thinking into an ad pitch before they actually create the ad. An ad seems so simple I wouldn't think that it would take such a long time.
2. I learned that companies usually don't point out all of their product's weaknesses, they usually have bias with the pros of the product.
3. I think I am very aware as a consumer because I do not just buy what I see and think will work. I usually search up the same product from different brands and then find which one is better, or I watch reviews on the product. I think the advertisers are trying to sell the idea that their product is the best thing in the world. They are really trying to sell the product, but they are trying to get you to buy a false product that isn't as great as they make it seem.

1. I learned that there is a long process of ad pitching, and that a lot of effort, time and thinking goes into creating an advertisement and an ad pitch.

2. I learned that sometimes, to make the product being advertised seem better or more useful, they might be a little biased towards it. Ex. Showing more better insight, showing more strengths of the product compared to the weakness, bashing other companies, etc.

3. I am aware as a consumer because I know that not everything is as useful or needed as it seems. I know that there are advertisers that try to promote their product as the best thing ever, but I am aware that they are not all like that. They are trying to sell the idea that their product is the most important thing and that you need to buy their product.

I learned that ads and pitches have distinct features that are done on purpos like the backround has dull colours so the headings and pictures of the product stick out. Also the picture of the product is usually on the left side of the ad because people tend to look left first because we read from left to right not right to left. I think that even though we might not notice it, alot of ads are biased. They bash other companies secretly to make you think that the other company is missing alot of special and important features

1. I think that now after seeing these advertisements and their pitches, I think that it is hard to make these types of ads, we just think that it is a billboard, or an ad on tv but they put time and effort to make a company buy their pitch and we just dismiss it as another ad. 2. I learned that we should look closer into ads and analyze what each one is trying to say, as for biased it is based on whether the person has an connection with the company or likes that brand. 3. I don't think regular consumers are aware, but they can be aware to know as what they're buying and not just saying "let me get that!" when a febreze commercial comes on. What they are trying to sell to us is to go, do or buy whatever they are trying to advertise and if it's a commercial they want to be in your head so you can't stop thinking about it.

Michael.

1. I learned that the company or organization has to put a lot of effort into their advertisements and pitching and its a long process, because on TV they have a limited amount of time and on billboards they have a limited amount space, so they have to get the audience's view using both these limitations.
2. I learned that in ads, companies are usually bias because they show their ad in the view of a person who likes their product and sometimes they try attacking other companies, for example BOUNTY says that their towels absorb 10x more than a no name brand. They also make very catchy jingles so that their tune will stick in the viewers/ consumers' head which would want them to buy their product.

3. I am a conscious consumer ,I usually buy something if I need it. Most advertisers are trying to sell us their products or their services.

1. What I learnt was that various techniques are used to compliment the product, and to make it stand out. Different aspects of the ad can also be emphasized to make the product seem better than it actually could be. Ad pitches also include everything that can be taken into consideration when planning an ad and they are planned out in a very organized but creative way as well.

2. I learned that advertisers/ companies always try to make their product sound like the best one and bash other companies. They always list more advantages, rather than disadvantages about their product which creates bias. They also make their ads in the perspective of someone who loves the product and uses it all the time, and trying to convince us to also buy it.

3. I am mostly an aware consumer, but sometimes as well, I get carried away and fall for advertisers tricks. I think that advertisers are really trying to sell us the products/ services that they create, and continuosly make us buy the company's products.

The ad pitch is made in a creative and thoughtful way to catch the viewers attention. I also learnt that these ad pitches are well organized to emphasize certain parts and to make the product more intriguing.

2. I learnt that advertisers are always bias towards their product. They make their product look good and show all of its strengths instead of its weaknesses. The advertisers goal is to make their product look like it's the best and that you need that product, even if you really don't.

3. I think I am most of the time aware as a consumer, because I don't believe everything that advertisers say all the time. But sometimes they find a way to hook me in and I all in all fall for the advertisers tricks. I'll rarely actually buy something I don't need, though, because I know that it'll probably end up to be a waste of money and that even though the advertisers made their product to look extravagant and flawless, that is just their job and the product most likely has multiple bugs.

1. I learnt that there is a lot of thought and time that goes into the making and selling of a product. I realized that not all that advertisers say may be true. Every product does have its weaknesses and while you may not see or hear it, the marketer will continue to convince you of only the good things in an ad. I learnt that business in the advertising is very.......hectic. If the marketers want to be paid they HAVE to convince the companies that they are proposing the idea to that this product is much better than the others. There is major competition between different brands.I learnt, as well, that even using the smallest thing of another companies can result to being sued if the brand had a contract. I learnt that while we may not see it, there are many advertising techniques used to get our attention and persuade us to buy a product.

2. I learnt that the whole business to marketers is to convince you that their product is the only thing you will ever need. The marketers have to be bias towards their product because otherwise they will not sell anything. They must support their strengths rather than weaknesses and point out flaws in other competitor brands, so that their product looks much better than other brands.

3. To be honest, I don't think that i am very aware as a customer. I can be easily fooled into believing whatever they are saying. This does not mean I am not a conscious buyer, as I always consider whether I need it or not. Though if I need an item and a marketer is selling that product, most likely will end up buying the product, as i tend to believe what people say. Advertisers are really trying to sell me the notion that their product is much better than others and the only thing I need. As well, I think that advertisers are as well trying to get the product stuck in your mind. Maybe a catchy phrase or jingle to get the song stuck in your head so you will atomatically think of it when someone needs that item (e.g Sleep Country Canada). This is like free publicity and to make us want to buy the product over and over again.

I learnt alot of things about how advertising actually works. ads have their tricks into making you purchase their product. Alot of the time they can hide the facts that will make the product seem bad. Advertisements aren't 100 percent true. There will most likely be some sort of fact that is not actually real. Some companies that have alot of competition in between them, will try to make the other product seem bad. They can make changes to the actual product. Ads can have some sort of bias in them in order to make other people buy their product. And the truth is it will take a while just to make an advertisement. When I see advertisements I now think about how they are trying to trick people. I wonder about the techniques they use. I try to make sue I don't trust the ads that are not real.

1.I learned that there are many steps involved when it comes to creating an advertisement to promote a certain product; that there are many calculations and awareness of your target audience, where, when, and to what age group the advertisement is directed to.
2. I learned that if a certain product was founded in one certain area, the amount of popularity it has will be more sufficient in that certain area than other regions.
3. I am well aware that, despite all the laughs, tears, or annoying jingles, advertisements are an extremely efficient way of getting someone to purchase a product. I know advertisements are selling me an idea or product, not the surroundings. For example, if a celebrity holds a can of coke, the company's main idea is to sell the coke, not promote the celebrity. The company, therefore, uses their surroundings to promote their product.

I learned that advertisers have many ways to attract you to their ad but if they have too much information the audience might loose interest on the other hand other advertising companies may have interest so that they can see what the ad's company is up to. 2. I learned that advertisers or audience can both be bias wether it's about the ad or something else. 3. Advertisers are trying to sell the audience their products, as a wise consumer I should know what if the advertising company is trying to sell me a good product or not.
