--> Reuse is the  practice of using an item, whether for its original purpose  or to fulfill a different function, this practice help save time, money, energy and resources and is the introduction to sustainable development and circular economy.

We’ll  start our laboratory restyling an old teacher desk giving it new life!!!!

The teachers present the project to the students.

The idea of the drawing was inspired first by the cover of the Beatles’ single Yellow Submarine. The submarine will be drawn on the top of the desk. Then other drawings will continue to recall British culture. Loch Ness Monster will be on the front of the desk. On the sea bottom students will draw Stonehenge and Pink Floyd symbol.

Step 2

The students prepare the desk. Then they start sanding the surface with sandpaper to make it more porous.

Step 3

They proceed to the drafting of a good special paint coat, called primer. This special paint allows the water paint to grip.

Step 4

They transfer the sketch in scale from the paper to the desk’s surface. 

Step 5

They start with the decoration of the furniture, using a water-based paint draft by brushes of different measures. 

We have white, black and  the three primary colors, with these 5 colours we’ll create all the other colors we need.

Maybe we will need to give a second covering coat of paint.

Step 6

The teacher will cover the painting with a protective matte paint, to preserve the work

We are ready to show our excellent work!

• CLOSE the pots accurately, otherwise the paint gets dry.

• CLEAN the brushes properly, otherwise they get dry and hard and they cannot be used anymore.

• STORE. After having washed the brushes remember to leave them in a pot or other containers upside down or you risk to bend them.
