         <description><![CDATA[<div>1. In John Mellencamp's Little Pink Houses I believe he was trying to portray the freedom that America has to offer. This is evident throughout the chorus of the song. I also believe he's trying to explain how many Americans are satisfied with not having a high-class life, and are completely happy with their "Little Pink Houses", as to them they are still living the American Dream.<br><br>To me, America is whatever you make of it. If you work hard enough you can make it to whatever social or economic-class you want. If you are satisfied with life you were brought up in, you can continue to live that life, if you weren't you can change your life to do something different, or better. America clearly has it's downfalls with racial injustice, economic set-backs, and poor presidential candidates, but what country is perfect? </div>]]></description>
