Do Schools kill creativity reflection In this assignment I had my first contact with the way society perceives creativity and education and the opposing view of how educators view them. I learnt how they should really perceive it as an equal to the educational value. Moreover, I discovered that throughout my education my creativity has witnessed the light a lot of times through artistic and musical endeavors yet it was so close to diminishing due to the faulty educational and societal misperception of creative stimulating activities as a waste of time instead of a manner of personal and mental development. This was my greatest illumination moment

After reading the article entitled "Reclaim your creative confidence" written by David Kelly and Tom Kelly published by Harvard and revolving around Stanford school which is considered to be the most established institution specialized in teaching paths towards creativity, I became more in touch with my flaws and came to discover in a truthful and accepting manner the barriers that used to hold me back from reaching my full creative potential: Being scared of the unknown and of being judged were my main doubt shadows that once they were revealed I took my first milestone towards my creative confidence

Another revelation if not a further confirmation of the connection between the mindset adopted by me and the consequential life path of that mindset. For instance, I discovered that the fixed mindset has been embedded in my life and soul throughout my childhood due to the imminent cultural influence then it transformed into a growth mindset upon me entering university and getting exposed to multiple life changing yet educational forces and positive influences that served to change the way I perceive the world forever.

Ideation tool: Analogus inspiration

In this class I learnt for the first time about analogus inspiration which depicts how the simplest objects inspire the most creative projects like houses for refugees and the homeless were inspired from a coffee cup. Such example is a typical porterayal of the Egyptian society mindset and mine as well where we try to create a multiple use from a single object in a resourceful manner. Moreover, during my reflection regarding the IDEO challenge to renew the shopping cart design within just 5 days, I learnt a lot of new aspects about creativity. One of the first things is merely a fortification of an expert within the creativity field which is the fact that creativity is not limited to a single field of study rather it extends to multiple fields each of them contribute significantly to the overall design process. The second aspect is considered to be one of the most important aspects as it depicts the principle of teamwork significance and the necessity of have an enlightened trial and error rather than working solely on my own. From this principle branches another one which is the adaptability and flexibility to accept other individuals’ ideas without judgement or neglect and for me this shows and proves the imminent presence of growth mindset throughout the creation process of new products or business as both are created by people from diverse fields whom without the growth mindset would have had endless disagreements and struggled to prove their points.

Wow 😮 this article has changed alot in the manner I perceive problems. This technique has succeeded in solving a lot of my unsolved problems such as my weight gain and my studying process. as it made me think 🤔 about what would make the problem grow worse instead of how to solve it directly. As a result I started focusing on how to avoid worsening my problems instead of focusing on how to solve them. Hence my solutions were easily found and my perspectives regarding problem solving were root elly changed. For example, when I don’t perform well on an exam I start thinking about what would make me perform worse on the coming exam and I start avoiding it.

This was my first time to take such a well-rounded and comprehensive personality test. I was highly surprised when my test revealed that I am a campaigner personality mainly due to my understanding that the campaigner personality is a highly popular personality capable of socializing and building networks easily and confidently which contrasted my belief that I am an introverted person since my childhood to my teenage years. However, after I delved deeper within the results the common points became clearer. Since, I entered university my campaigner personality started peaking through the curtain of Architectural major. I started becoming curious to learn more and to step out of my comfort zone through getting to know and communicate with individuals whom I would not have talked to before in my life through joining multicultural clubs and extracurricular activities. All these actions were motivated by my desire to discover what lies beyond the world that was bordered by my family and society. Another aspect that correlated with me greatly is being observant . This is a great hobby of mine that I owe to it my ability to understand people well and what inspires and motivates their behavior. this explains how I am able to get along with a lot of people from different fabrics and positions from the society while maintaining my witty sparky personality.

I have always been an excellent gift picker who was able to pick on my beloved ones vibes and liking. However, I never thought of how the gift buying and giving is an actual experience that influenced and impacted the giver and the taker in such a deep and
insightful manner. When I interviewed my partner Menna trying to empathize with her gift buying experience, I was intrigued by the ability to stand in her shoes and to observe objectively her gift buying experience flaws. Then once spotting her problem I started reinventing her process, testing it and then looked forward towards her feedback which aided me in enhancing her gift giving experience further making it memorable and enlightening all at the same time. For me this was another golden milestone in the creativity realm. As it provided me with the ability to employ creativity to stimulate and enhance such a simple experience to a meaningful and sacred one

Customer service versus customer experience

Upon viewing the two videos revolving around the opposing customer services I have seen clearly how different and simple they are yet could radically influence and stimulate a certain customer behavior. The fact that in the first video the sales person felt offended from the manner the customer resulted in her losing her professionalism and servicing the customer in a terrible manner leading to him and his friend having an unsatisfactory experience. In contrast to the second video where the car seller had anticipated the probability of having a car breakdown in the middle of the road and did not only provide him with a map of direction to the nearest fuel station but it also reached his location on time and provided him with a cab and the promise to fix or provide him with a new car. This reaction shows how creative the company were in anticipating the customers needs prior to them taking place. an advantage that is highly valued in today's business world. For me I believe that the second behavior is the one that professional companies and businesses should adopt as it shows that no matter the quality of your product the customer service that you represent could either build a sad reputation or create a long life span of customer loyalty .

In this challenge I have been excited and intrigued by three main aspects: the employment of the 16 personalities test to organize groups so that each group has no shortage in any skill or any gap in expertise. Moreover, my teammates were from different majors. For me this correlated with IDEO challenge of reinventing the shopping cart where the team members were from diverse educational backgrounds yet each had a skill that completed the mysterious puzzle of the design thinking process. Additionally, I was scared yet excited about the possibility of designing a dolab within 20 minutes a time limit that was much shorter than the IDEO challenge yet that time period encouraged the most creative and cooperative activity between me and my teammates . Not to mention the fact that we were able to employ the techniques that we learnt during class such as fluency and traveller's mindset during our Ideation and empathy phases respectfully. Despite the bombardments of ideas that each of us had during the challenge we were able to assign roles effectively and peacefully without arguments which is another benefit due to the 16 personalities test and the result is that each aspect of the design were contributed for by each member .

Zero Hunger Project

The Zero hunger Project is an experience that I enjoyed very much while learning a lot of new prospects from it . For instance, there has been a great deal of collaboration between team members in every phase particularly in the Ideation and execution phases . During the former, there has been an energetic frequent bombardment of ideas and creative thoughts on execution. For me this project was addressing a major problem in our society particularly with the economic problems that surrounds our country . It focused on two essential groups whom according to research are believed to be the most impacted group: homeless children and working adults. These groups are found to be on both the recieving and contributing ends of the main problem: rising food wastage . As the latter keep throwing food they believe they might not need away while the former keep going on an infinite quest to find food. After an active debate with my colleagues we arrived at the solution of a vending machine that offers breakfast, lunch and dinner for these groups using ID cards that identifies each individual and his family number to correlate his nutrition needs quantifiably. This project is done in collaboration with non-governmental organizations . What I liked most about this project is the feedback that we received that aided us in enhancing our project design and the fact that we used analogous inspiration from an ATM machine while applying AEIOU, traveller's mindset, Empathy map, and journey map

This video was very strategic through starting from stating the fact that a small idea is the seed towards great discoveries and inventions. Following that the programmer started introducing aspects that stimulate creativity and creative confidence such as invention land which is a company that provides financial and marketing support to individuals with an out of the box idea. Not only that, but it also enables them to operate in an active and positive environment that reinforces their creative confidence through surrounding them with Invention land most successful products and proof that individuals that were thought to be hopeless and now became idols to the coming generations .

When it comes to creating my own paper work for internships I have always felt scared to take the first step to create my own CV as I have always viewed myself to be having an empty resume and thought that there are many people my age who have done much greater work and achieved much more than I have in 2 years or throughout my entire life. However, after being provided with the right guidance on how to build my creative CV and researching for tips on how to write my CV. I realized when I started filling the experience section that throughout my two years within the university I unconciously evolved to a great extent educationally and mentally. For some this evolution might be seen as mini development but for me this is a huge leap that was reached at my own pace and with the availability of the a positive and supportive environment. After all a wise man once said that innovation starts with a small seed of Ideas

a compassionate inspirer. In terms of extraversion, I tend to action oriented, impulsive, outgoing, socially at ease while at the same time I prefer to be around other people and like to be involved in many activities. Moreover, intuitively I tend to focus upon the future passion for learning new skills and paying attention to the meanings behind different things. Additionally, I prefer operating in an environment that is friendly, supportive and harmonious. All of the previously mentioned traits are highly connected to my personal identity and career values. To set an example, I cannot operate in an environment full of disagreements between individuals or work with a professor who lacks interest in the students or the subject itself. Not to mention the fact that, upon working on any architectural project I tend to visualize myself in the future having a successful and an appreciation-winning project. However, my personality could also be a double edged sword. For instance, I am an individual who excels only in subjects that I am highly interested in if not passionate about and the subjects that spark my interest tend to be limited especially if they are not related to art, accumulating new skills and dealing with multiple people with diverse backgrounds and harmonious energy. In addition to, my personality that tends to get bored quite easily while carrying out any task especially if it is a task that is related to math or technical aspects. The careers matching my identity are quite accurate and they include counselling, teaching, religion and arts. This is justified by the fact that I am enrolled in architecture major while simultaneously working as a private tutor. These two careers are quite enriching to my life educationally and professionally. In the former, I enjoy interacting with arts, while fulfilling my independence from teaching and inspiring others.
