I'm coming from Passion Pit's "Mirrored Sea". It always give me chills because it makes me feel like I'm running over the water towards a sunset with someone coming after me.

All characters have a need to address or a mission to achieve. Much like everyone of us who are never fully satisfied with what we have. This must mean that there could always be something to write about?

Today I clearly saw the difference between writing something and reading that something aloud. So interesting to try this out by writing about different scenarios, attempting different genres. 

On the group activity (What makes a good story?)
1. Character - I like the intellectual types (e.g., FBI, scientists) - hirap naman isulat nito, madaming kelangan na research
2. Setting - Real life, like watching through windows (creeper) - so challenging to write this too though. how does it become entertaining, when it is about the mundane? need that relatable (and charismatic?) character? no wonder not many others said this as their preferred setting.
3. Obstacles - I love puzzles and problem solving + conflicts with self (e.g., to follow beliefs or not, when to comply and when to fight, dealing with addiction, how to get what you want when others don't agree?)
4. More than learning about the technicalities of writing, I appreciate the openness and vulnerability most. As our stories come from a place of truth from within, even when it was revealing mistakes we did or hurtful moments, it was just wonderful. I loved getting to know every one in class, an unravelling that came from each story instead of small talk. Another thing I loved about this class is how it helped me get to know myself better as it encouraged reflection and expression. I couldn't be more grateful for this as I've been struggling with prioritizing self-care recently.

I was hoping to get feedback on the pieces I wrote, or any inkling that will say “yes, I am a writer”. But thinking about it -- whether I did good or bad, if I keep writing, yes, I will be a writer.
