I have so many new idea of how to engage students while teaching curriculum. It did take a long time to put together the unit, so it would be a struggle to do while teaching during the school year. However once it's done I can continue to use it over the years. As I read more articles and looked at more examples, I realized how even little changes, like what you call an assignment, can spark some extra interest. I am so excited that I feel I can start weaving in aspects of gamification and know that it can be a process of building and expanding through the year. I like how it is easy for me to track how my students progress and that I can give them feedback in a way that rewards and motivates them (badges, tokens, etc.). My biggest takeaway from the course is that gamification can be applied across all grade levels and is adaptable for every student. You added so many details and articles which gives lots of choices to build it. I think I will try to gamify a Digital Citizenship lesson. Once it is set, though, it will be great to go back to something that I know has been successful, but also enjoyable for the students.
