There are a few parts of the People's Republic of China. One of which is the Communist Party. It holds all the power. The people at the top make all of the decisions that effect the people at the bottom. For example, " Government, the military society and schools, north, south, east and west - the party leads them all,"(Xi Jinping). The government even controls what Chinese citizens have access to on the Internet. Also, it heavily controls all politics and punishes any who challenge their authority. Finally, the Chinese government controls and monitors almost everything in China.

Chinese citizens gained a lot of rights since the last President was in office. First, all citizens of china are considered equal. They are able to buy property, start a business and leave the country freely. They have a right to education and freedom to pursue different careers. Citizens also can wear the clothes that they want. Any and all citizens can vote once they're eighteen. They have freedom of religious belief. Finally, the citizens of china have freedom of speech, press, assembly, etc. However, the government still controls many aspects of their lives.

China's leaders are all elected by a hierarchical system. The people elect the People's Congress. Then the People's Congress elects candidates for the National Congress. The National Congress elects people for the next level. Who then determine the next level, and so on. This continues until you get to the Communist Party and the President. After the end of their term of office, new people replace them, or they get reelected. Really, the people only get to choose who to elect on the lowest level with the least power.

There are some laws in China that some would say are unfair or just extreme. For example, the internet is completely monitored and filtered. There are severe consequences for drug use in china, even a death penalty. "There are restrictions on certain religious activities,"(www.worldtravelguide.net). Until recently, Chinese families were fined if you had more than one child. Trying to undermine the political authority of the Communist Party is illegal. Chinese citizens are not allowed to date their colleagues. Finally, where you are born in China is where you have to live.

In China, most of the citizens lives are controlled and monitored. The government holds all the power. The leaders are originally elected by the people but from there is the government. There are strict laws against criticism on the communist party. In Contrast, in the United States, the citizens' everyday lives aren't monitored. The people holds the power and elect all their leaders. There are fair and reasonable laws. The United States is the opposite of China in many ways.
