Students appear to not have mastered math facts, making high order

math more difficult and demanding on them than it should be.

Who or what is suspected of causing the problem?

Teachers seem to focus on teaching from the textbook, which does not

place any value on mastery.

What kind of problem is it?

This is a skill problem that the students have.

What is the goal for improvement?

I want all of my students to have mastered the addition, subtraction, and

multiplication math facts from 0-10, so that they can use the skills that they

have mastered to apply to other math problems.
