Filtered water is called Potable water. Some water isn't always on the surface, called ground water, since it comes from the ground. The common everyday water we see is called surface water. We get our water from a public supply, since our city is urban, not rural. It comes from the water tower in the Water tower apartments(I used to live there). We use 2gal of h2o to wash our hands. I wonder why people pollute water if we need it for survival. Why do we pollute it with chemicals that when we drink it, kills us?

My question is why does water not have any taste?

This is what I learned:

1. If you live on a farm it is likely that you use public water supply.

2. If you have a privet well then you are using underground water.

3. Millions of people around the world use water wells

4. Most public water utilities rely on surface water

5. Filtered water and treated water that is safe to drink is then stored in a reservoir and gets up to your to your house by under ground pumps

I learned that the city water that people use are transported through an underground pipe system. I also learned that I case the main water tank is destroyed or in case of emergency, they have backup filters, and finally, I learned that the water companies have a water meter to figure out how much you owe them. My question is, how do the companies get the pipes fixed if their broken, and how without a big commotion?

My second question is "How does Earth produce water?"I learned that water comes from 2 sources and depending on where you live one source is available. If you live on a farm you get it from a well on your property, otherwise your city supplies it for a cost. In Eden Prairie it comes from here...

I learned that water on a farm comes from a deeply dug hole or well on the property whereas in a city water comes from a public water source. Also one person can survive 1 day on .5 gallons of water.

Water tanks hold thousands and thousands of gallons of water. Also drinking water is also called potable water. My new thick water question is how does water get from the ocean to MN because we are so far away from the ocean?

I learned that we use 2 gallons of water to wash our hands. The team put a water measure to show how much water we use. Then they put an iPad to show it to the person washing there hands. It reduced to 0.5 gallons! A person need 0.5 gallons of water to survive a day. So when you reduce it you can give somebody 1.5 gallons of water and they can survive 3 days. My thick questions is Why don't people change how much they use?

I learned that we actually use 2 gallons of water each time we wash our hands and with a little bit of changes to washing our hands we only use .5 gallons of water. I also learned that filtered water is called potable water. Also public drinking fountains and other water utilities use chemicals to clean the water.

My question is: When Water is Purified with Chemicals How Does it Effect us?

I learned many things about water, but I'm sharing the top 3:

1. You can save 1.5 gallons of water if you just turn of the faucet when you are getting soap or getting something else.

2. Public water utilities use filters and chemicals to clean our water so it's safe to drink.

3. 1 person needs only 0.5 gallons of water to survive 1 day!!

My new thick question is:

Why is it so hard to filter and clean the water in Africa?

I learned many things from the article. Her are a few quick facts.

• public water supply companies get water to people in two ways - ground and water

• ground water goes to homes through the ground in aquifers

• water supply companies get surface water to you by getting water out of lakes and ponds, then cleaning it and pumping it to you

I learned a lot of things from the article but I'm only going to share 3 and my Thick Question about water. So let's get started! What I learned:

• You only need 0.5 gallons of water to survive for 1 day.

• Some water comes from underground and some comes from the surface. This is called Surface Water and the other one is called Ground Water.

• If you are living on a farm you probably get water from a well on your property not from a public supplie if you lived in a city.

How do people who use wells clean there water? Because in my picture that's well water when it first comes out of the well. You definitely have to clean that, but how?

Our city Eden Prairie is a town, city sort of a place, so we get our water from Public Water Supply. We get to have Potable Water. The Public Water Supply provides us to have Ground Water. But houses in the country, get surface water. We waste a lot of water, about 2.0 gallons! 0.5 gallons of water are needed for survival.

My question is: "Why is there barely any water in Asia or Africa? Why do we have more water?

I learned that there are 2 different places to get water : a well, (like at my cabin) or a public water supply (like my house). I also learned that you need 0.5 gallons of water per day in order to survive. We usually wash our hands with 2, but we can save more water by only using 0.5. My question is where did all of the water come from and how are we making more?
