What stood out to the me the most are the anecdotes Elif Shafak shared. I was really pulled in by the stories of her family, specifically her grandmother. I became interested in her as a person and author - those stories helped to create a common ground.

What stood out to me the most is that she had many chances to backdown from what she is doing and give up but she didn’t do that. Instead she got back up and didn’t care about no label that people placed on her.

what stood out to me, was her choice of words. The way she said those words, easily, in a way the drew my attention. The way she spoke to the audience, with confidence, emotions. In ways that could open someone’s mind and ears to her words.

I came late but what stood out was how she said that there is no barriers no limits.

what stood out most to me, was how she talked about using stories to connect people from different backgrounds. I liked how she said fiction can break walls between us and help us to understand others better. It made me think about how powerful words can really be.
