This must go hand in hand with the ability to identify potential large-scale problems domestically and overseas, however, as JFK was able to separate how he conveyed situations to Americans and how he dealt with them, making tough decisions without the complete advice of Americans. JFK also had a famous presidency because although he made these tough decisions apart from Americans' complete involvement, he did a good job of understanding what the people wanted based off of the information they did have and made educated decisions that saved lives and solved conflict. Being able to connect with his audience made him immensely popular, and the thousands of cheers at the end of his speech were proof enough.
3. Finally, keep up good health and remain confident. Remember during the first televised presidential debate, Kennedy had a calm and confident presence on screen, while Nixon's TV presence was rather poor. Many people believe his strong TV presence won him the presidency.

3. Be educated on topics. And act it too! Don't be like Donald Trump and start blurting out random and stupid comments about a topic you do not understand. JFK made it his business to understand topics and be educated on it. He was quick to listen and slow to speak. This ultimately helped him during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

John F. Kennedy was the last libertarian who has ever sat in the Oval Office. Despite some of his ideological flaws, he was the last libertarian-leaning president this country has ever had, and he is an example to be followed. His style, reputation, and policy all play into why he was a great president (comparatively with most of the others).

  1. Kennedy always gave elegant, flowering speeches, carefully crafted by speechwriters. You may not want to do this, as nowadays the American people don’t seem up for hearing rhetoric-packed bumper-sticker slogan orations — but you should definitely have a speech planned. Don’t try to improvise unless you know you have a natural gift for off-the-cuff oration. And most people don’t.
  2. Kennedy always tried to resolve conflicts peacefully. Rather than be trigger-happy on the nuclear button like presidents before him, he tried to resolve things diplomatically, even with “aggressor” nations such as the USSR. The Cuban Missile Crisis and the Second Berlin Crisis both exemplify his skill for negotiating. Don’t give in too easily to the demands of the other side — you have to sort of know when to push and when to concede, in order to get most of what America wants and as little as possible of what America doesn’t want.
  3. Kennedy was the first president to really try to negotiate with America’s enemies rather than just pointing more bombs at them. Kennedy usually was the first to try to get guns lowered. Kennedy was the one reaching out to Soviet leaders in times of crisis for diplomacy. Kennedy didn’t necessarily lower the gun first, but he established such a good reputation that the Soviets trusted him a great deal more than even his own vice-president, and were willing to make concessions they otherwise wouldn’t have made. Be trustworthy, have a good reputation, and be diplomatic at all times.

2.) In addition to being a good speaker, you must exude confidence and always look professional.  Kennedy, in the first televised debate, maintained a confident and well put together look while his opponent, Nixon, looked very pale and sickly.  
3.) Lastly, you must have the ability to negotiate well with foreign countries.  Instead of pointing guns at America’s opponents, Kennedy chose to reach out to other countries and discuss matters in a very peaceful manner.  At any given time, you must have a good reputation and be professional.

Follow these three things and you will be as successful as John F. Kennedy.
