         <description><![CDATA[<div>*Social Psychology*: The study of how we think about, influence, and relate to each other.<br>-Attribution Theory: examines our tendency to make sense of other people's behavior... is behavior a result of the situation the person is in or their individual traits?<br>-Attribution: what we believe caused the behavior- personal (dispositional) and situational<br>-Just-World Phenomenon: assumption that bad things happen to bad people and vice versa.<br>-Fundamental Attribution Error: overemphasize personal attributions for others and underestimate them for ourselves.<br>-Self-serving Bias: attribute successes to ourselves and failures to situations.<br>-Attitude: stable organization of beliefs, feelings, and tendencies towards someone or something<br>-ABC's of Attitudes: Affect (feeling of love, hate, dislike...), Behavior (approach, avoid), Cognition (beliefs like facts or opinions).<br>-Prejudice: intolerant, unfavorable, and rigid attitude towards a group of people; can be artificially induced.<br>- Discrimination: Actions that deny opportunities and social esteem to an entire group of people or individual members of that group.<br>-Ingroup Bias: tendency to favor one's own group over another.<br>- Self-Fulfilling prophecy: One's unconscious expectations about someone else eventually lead the other person to behave in ways that confirm these expectations.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>- Conformity: changing behavior to match that of the group.<br>- Cognitive Dissonance: attitudes and behaviors inconsistent; we're motivated to decrease this tension.<br>- Obedience: compliance with an explicit demand to change behavior from an authority figure.<br>- Compliance: how we respond to a request.<br>(low ball technique, foot in the door technique, door in the face technique, norm of reciprocity)<br>~Lowball: similar to framing; example is that a price for a car can appear lower but is actually similar to others/ amount of compliance.<br>~Foot in the door: tendency for ppl to comply with a small request and later ask for a bigger request that is more likely to be requested.&nbsp;<br>~ The expectation that ppl will respond to each other; if I give you something or help you in any way, you are obligated to do the same for me.<br><br><br></div>]]></description>
