The song starts off with the drums driving the song which it continues to drive through out the piece.
There are two different rythms being played in the song. Both rythms are played fast and aggressive. In some parts it sounds random.

The form is generally rough and all over the place like it's clumsily thrown about. However when the melody comes in it starts to connect and smooth slightly although it still is rough considering it's a heavy metal band.

The timbre is rough and husky and isn't very refined or clear.
At the start of the song there is not much Melody however when the male choir comes in it creates a harmony with the lead singer. This is created by the choir singer much higher than the lead male.

The dynamics doesn't vary or change very much. The song is played loud by all, the instruments so it's just one continuous sound.
The instrumentation is made up of drums, bass guitar and male vocalists.
The bass guitar also has a solo where it sounds like it's just being shredded. When the solo is finished it creates a harmony in the background of the music.

The pitch is low and very heavy although when the choir and harmonys come in it goes much higher.
The accompaniment has high pitched screams which seemingly are thrown all over the place with not much timing.
There is also a very loud and clear gunshot where the rest of the instruments seem to be put on a pause. After the gunshot the sound of glass shattering is made soon afterwards.

Melody:
- The saxophones mainly create the melody.
- The melody is clear but still backround.
- Some parts it takes over the vocalist.

Harmony and Accompaniment:
- Sax solo comes in at the end with runs.
- The saxophone blends into rest of instruments and sometimes with vocalist.
- Choir echos lead vocalist at the end of the piece.

Pitch:
- The sound is moderate until it gets to the end where the lead vocalist sings higher and longer, while the choir echoes more mutely.
- The solo saxophone goes higher and takes over the lyrical part.

Instrumentation:
- Lead male vocalist - is muted at parts and is at a average tone.
- Choir - echos lead vocalist in parts.
- Drums - backround beat.
- Piano - starts the piece with a run.
- Guitar - blends with the instruments.
- Saxaphones - ends song 'sings' higher than everyone else. Very much a Jazz style

Dynamics:
- the piece starts quiet and flowing and then is hit with a very loud accent mainly carried by the saxophones
- The reset of the song is mainly moderate but the instrumentation is slightly louder than the vocalists.
- When the sax solo comes in the rest of the instruments quieter so the saxophone's part really sings out louder.

Timbre:
- The piece in general is pretty smooth and flows and connects with eachother
- The vocals are warm and smooth in texture while the saxophone sing out. Although is some parts you can hear the accents clearly.
- The rest of the instrumentation is slightly muted but are all the time flowing and keeping the band together.

Tempo:
- The tempo is slow but it still loves a long at an easy pace.

Beat:
- The beats are created and partly driven by the drums which is shared with the sax's
- The beat is still reasonably slow paced.

Rhythm:
- The Rhythm is fairly basic and doesn't have a obvious part but it helps keep everyone in time with eachother
- Although when the Soloist comes in the rhythm changes to a quick jazz style.

Form:
- The form is connected and everyone blends into eachother it is placed out evenly and not all over the place.

Melody:
- The melody is sung by the lead female vocalist (Sinead O'Conner). She holds the end notes in some of the choruses.
- The melody is sung with emotion and is heartfelt.

Harmony and Accompaniment:
- The lead vocalist has an echo on her voice at the start of the song.
- Choir then joins in and echos parts with long chordal like parts.

Pitch:
- The bass line and backround sounds are low while the melody is high and is lyrical.
- The lead vocalist generally starts her lines as a soft whisper, which she then transitions to a high and loud singing part. She ends the line by either dragging it and letting it fade out, or she changes the tone quality to a more slight huskier finish.

Instrumentation:
- Lead female vocalist - sings the melody high and clear.
- Choir vocals - echoes the lead singer.
- Piano - starts the piece creates the bass line with a chord structure.
- Drums - controls the beat, tempo and rhythm.

Dynamics:
- The piece starts very quiet and muted.
- The bass line is soft and connected which ties in with the vocalist who is louder and sings clear although the vocals still fades in and out while accenting and making some notes more louder and clear. It's all most like they're accented compared to the other notes on that line.
- The rest of the instrumentation is quiet and more muted.

Tempo:
- The tempo is controlled by the drums which keep it at a slow and steady pace.

Beat:
- The beat is also controlled by the drums but the piano takes part by leading the sound and driving it with the chord changes.
- However the bass is stil quiet, slow and basic.

Rhythm:
- The rhythm is fairly basic and chordal.

Form:
- It is connected and everything blends and flows into eachother.
- When the lead vocalist pauses the choir comes in and takes over for a very little while which then is taken back by the lead.
- So the choir and lead alternate in some parts of the song.

The comparison of Prince and Sinead O'Conner:

- The main differences between these pieces is that the original is a jazz piece while the cover is more heartfelt and emotional.

- The start of the two pieces both start off quiet but in the original it then suddenly goes bang and the piece starts louder. While in the cover it stays soft and the lyrics are sung more higher and clearer.

- The original is also repetive and each time the chorus comes it stays the same whereas in the cover it changes and creates more texture or different dynamics each time the same part is sung.

- The melody lines are pretty much opposite aswell, you have in the original a more of a jazz warm and muted sound. Where in the cover it's high and clear and rises above everything else.

- The bass is also pretty much opposite. In the original it's layered alot more and has more instruments supporting the bass line with clearer harmonies.
However in the cover the bass line is quiet and chordal and doesn't have as much of the support. The harmonies in the cover are alot more diluted and softer.

- The dynamics are soft but then turns into a consistent sound for the rest of the piece. Whereas in the cover the dynamics go up and down and highlight important parts in a line.

- At the end of the pieces the original ends with a 'loud and proud' solo that often takes over the lead vocalist. However the Cover slowly and gradually softens and dies out towards the end with just the piano playing a chord structure.
