Hey Bethany,
We didn't get to interact a ton this summer but I always appreciated your calming presence on Zoom. Your passion for science was so clear from when you first presented your life map to hearing you talk in faculty meetings about how excited you were when science labs went well. I know you'll be a fantastic scientist/teacher/whatever else you might dream of doing! Best of luck with everything!!

Bethany!! Truly do not know what I would have done without you this summer. Thank you for being so so wonderful in my math class and always helping out with student tech issues and being absolutely INSTRUMENTAL in the last two weeks leading breakout rooms and supporting students to finish their projects. You are also an absolute science QUEEN and I learned so much from you along with your students about the digestive system and blood pressure and so many other things. You always found unique and innovative ways to communicate information and I was so impressed by your creativity and your students all benefited that. I am so glad we got to work together for two consecutive summers and I can't wait till it's safe and I can come visit Breakthrough and you in SF! Please please stay in touch, I'm so glad we got closer this summer thanks for always putting a smile on my face and reassuring me during my lessons <3 Love, Kelly

Every week at my advisees' Friday checkins, I always heard about what awesome things you did with them in class! From brainpop videos to finding their heart rate, your students left class still reflecting on what they learned. That's such an achievement!!! Kudos to you!!!

I'd like to give you a truly heartfelt kudos for how helpful and kind you are to others. I didn't have a lot of chances to interact with you outside of the haunted doll reddit thread(this statement is weird if you don't have context), but even then it was easy to joke with you and have a good time. I know you have a good spirit from how others speak about you, and, I think, if how others(both teaching fellows and students) are so appreciative of you and all you do then, yknow? The truth kind of speaks for itself in this case. Kudos to you and I'm hoping you and yours stay safe and healthy throughout the duration of this pandemic. I know you've got the drive and heart to accomplish anything you set your mind to, but, still, I'm wishing you the best of luck and here's to your future successes!

Bethany--though we did not cross paths as much as I would have liked this virtual summer, the warmth and kindness you shared with our community was so deeply felt. The story of how you have arrived on this pathway to teaching fills me with so much hope for all of the kids whose lives you will be able to touch in your future. I feel so grateful on behalf of your future students for your choice to devote your life to inspiring the same care for the earth and its creatures as you hold yourself among future generations. Congrats on a wonderful summer!! I really enjoyed talking to you the few times that we got the chance—you are such a calm, passionate, and easygoing person. You formed such strong relationships with all of your students and advisees this summer: you are really an incredible teacher & role model for the kids and you should be so proud of everything you’ve accomplished this summer. You did it!!!

kudos to you for the work you put into the teacher poem/videos this summer! and kudos to you for the constant joy you bring to your classroom! i remember last year the kids really enjoying your science class, and it seems like that was the same case this year (unsurprisingly, haha). thank you for all that you do to support your kids & make learning science fun & memorable for them <3

you have a clear love of sharing your passions with the students. last year the 5th graders would come to my class and let me know how much fun your lesson was. the kids enjoy you so much!

thank you for always checking in and that felt really great. :) I still remember that time about 2 years ago that we went on the scavenger hunt(It was so cool!). I still have the little figures in my pencil box. You were just THE BEST. So that is my Kudos to you.
