BTS also known as the Bangtan Boys, is a seven-member South Korean boy band formed by Big Hit Entertainment. The name subsequently became a backronym for Beyond the Scene in July 2017. On June 12, 2013, they performed the song "No More Dream" from their initial album 2 Cool 4 Skool to commemorate their debut on June 13, 2013. They won several New Artist of the Year awards for the track "No More Dream", including at the 2013 Melon Music Awards and Golden Disc Awards and the 2014 Seoul Music Awards. The band continued to gain prominence with their subsequent albums Dark & Wild (2014), The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Part 2 (2015) and The Most Beautiful Moment in Life: Young Forever (2016), with the latter two entering the U.S. Billboard 200. The Most Beautiful Moment in Life: Young Forever went on to win the Album of the Year award at the 2016 Melon Music Awards.

NEW YORK, 24 September 2018 -  BTS joined United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres; President of Rwanda Paul Kagame; World Bank Group President Jim Yong Kim, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, European Union, Ms. Federica Mogherini; UNICEF Executive Director Henrietta Fore; United Nations Secretary-General's Envoy on Youth Jayathma Wickramanayake; Unilever CEO Paul Polman; and UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador Lilly Singh, among other global, business, education and youth leaders to launch a new partnership to get every young person into quality education, training or employment by 2030, at the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly. Generation Unlimited will tackle the global education and training crisis currently holding back millions of young people and threatening progress and stability by focusing on three key areas of work: secondary-age education; skills for learning, employability and decent work; and empowerment.

"Thank you, Mr. Secretary General, UNICEF Executive Director, Excellencies and distinguished guests from across the world.

"My name is Kim Nam Jun, also known as RM, the leader of the group BTS. It’s an incredible honour to be invited to an occasion with such significance for today’s young generation.

"Last November, BTS launched the “Love Myself” campaign with UNICEF, building on our belief that “true love first begins with loving myself.”  We have been partnering with UNICEF’s #ENDviolence program to protect children and young people all over the world from violence.

"Our fans have become a major part of this campaign with their action and enthusiasm.  We truly have the best fans in the world!

"I would like to begin by talking about myself.

"I was born in Ilsan, a city near Seoul, South Korea.  It’s a beautiful place, with a lake, hills, and even an annual flower festival. I spent a happy childhood there, and I was just an ordinary boy.

"I would look up at the night sky in wonder and dream the dreams of a boy. I used to imagine that I was a superhero, saving the world.

"In an intro to one of our early albums, there is a line that says, “My heart stopped…I was maybe nine or ten.”

"Looking back, that’s when I began to worry about what other people thought of me and started seeing myself through their eyes. I stopped looking up at the stars at night. I stopped daydreaming. I tried to jam myself into moulds that other people made. Soon, I began to shut out my own voice and started to listen to the voices of others.  No one called out my name, and neither did I. My heart stopped and my eyes closed shut. So, like this, I, we, all lost our names. We became like ghosts.

"I had one sanctuary, and that was music. There was a small voice in me that said, ‘Wake up, man, and listen to yourself!” But it took me a long time to hear music calling my name.

"Even after making the decision to join BTS, there were hurdles. Most people thought we were hopeless. Sometimes, I just wanted to quit

"I think I was very lucky that I didn’t give it all up.

"I’m sure that I, and we, will keep stumbling and falling. We have become artists performing in huge stadiums and selling millions of albums.

"But I am still an ordinary, twenty-four-year-old guy. If there’s anything that I’ve achieved, it was only possible because I had my other BTS members by my side, and because of the love and support of our ARMY fans.

"Maybe I made a mistake yesterday, but yesterday’s me is still me. I am who I am today, with all my faults. Tomorrow I might be a tiny bit wiser, and that’s me, too. These faults and mistakes are what I am, making up the brightest stars in the constellation of my life. I have come to love myself for who I was, who I am, and who I hope to become. 

"I would like to say one last thing.

"After releasing the “Love Yourself” albums and launching the “Love Myself” campaign,  we started to hear remarkable stories from our fans all over the world,  how our message helped them overcome their hardships in life and start loving themselves. These stories constantly remind us of our responsibility.

"So, let’s all take one more step. We have learned to love ourselves, so now I urge you to “speak yourself.”

"I would like to ask all of you. What is your name? What excites you and makes your heart beat?

"Tell me your story. I want to hear your voice, and I want to hear your conviction. No matter who you are, where you’re from, your skin colour, gender identity: speak yourself.

Os sete integrantes do grupo BTS emocionaram líderes mundiais na abertura da 76ª Assembleia Geral da ONU nesta segunda-feira (20/9). Ao falar sobre os Objetivos do Desenvolvimento Sustentável (ODS), o grupo coreano transmitiu uma mensagem de esperança frente aos desafios que os jovens devem continuar enfrentando ao longo dos próximos anos. “Estamos aqui hoje para compartilharmos a história das nossas futuras gerações”, introduziu RM.

“Às vezes, parece que o mundo está parado, parece que você perdeu seu rumo. Teve uma época em que nós também nos sentimos assim”, disse Jin. Um por um, os ídolos do K-Pop revezaram as falas e conduziram um discurso de crescente otimismo, mesmo partindo das diversas crises colocadas pela realidade atual.

Antes de chegar ao evento, o grupo já havia dado o primeiro exemplo para a próxima geração, ao fazer questão de explicitar que os sete integrantes foram vacinados contra a covid-19. Confira o discurso completo com tradução simultânea em inglês.


Recuperação

“Tivemos a sensação invasiva de pavor de que nosso tempo no mundo é limitado. Acabamos de falar sobre as coisas que lamentamos e estremeço em pensar sobre o luto sobre a Terra. Todos concordam que a mudança climática é um problema importante, mas falar sobre a melhor solução pode não ser fácil. É um tópico sobre o qual é difícil tirar conclusões,” refletiu J-Hope.

Para o grupo, que é idolatrado pela geração Z em todo o mundo, a juventude não ficará inerte frente ao que precisa ser mudado. Ao contrário, são eles os donos da grande força de vontade e curiosidade científica decisivas para mudar o destino do planeta.

“Aprendi que há muitos jovens interessados em questões ambientais e que optam por ela como área de estudo. O futuro é um território inexplorado e é onde nós mais do que ninguém passaremos nosso tempo. E eles estão em busca de respostas”, acrescentou RM.


E coube a JIM dizer a frase de maior impacto do discurso do grupo: “Em vez de chamá-los de geração perdida, podemos chamá-los de geração acolhedora. Em vez de temer as mudanças, eles as abraçam”.
RM finalizou lembrando que é preciso acreditar nas possibilidades para não esmorecer diante de grandes desafios. “Mesmo quando o inesperado acontecer, não perderemos nosso caminho, descobriremos novos”, antecipou.



Performance na sede da ONU

Depois do discurso, o grupo apresentou uma performance exclusiva do single Permission to Dance. RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V e Jungkook começam dançando no salão principal do prédio das Nações Unidas em Nova York, saem pelas sete portas do edifício sede e chegam até a rua para dançar uma espécie de flash mob pela cidade. 

A canção tem um tom similar ao discurso, com uma letra que destaca a resiliência da juventude em frases como “Não precisamos nos preocupar, porque quando caímos, sabemos como pousar” e o refrão “não precisamos de permissão para dançar”.

  Resolvi falar do BTS pois são artistas do quais eu tenho mais familiaridade, conheço mas a fundo a carreira deles, e acho que sei do que estou falando.
Quando a senhora passou um trabalho pra falar que alguém que tenha feito a diferença achei que eles seriam uma boa "personalidade" a se falar. Eles pregam algo que eu acho muito lindo que é o amor próprio, acredito que é daí que nós podemos construir um futuro melhor, por que pensem comigo se nós nos amamos não vamos querer viver em um mundo podre, tanto socialmente quanto ecologicamente, e isso nos motiva a criar um mundo melhor, tirar rótulos que não conseguimos de que não somos capazes de mudar o mundo de que as coisas não tem jeito por que tem.
Mas veja bem estamos falando de amor próprio não de egocentrismo, queremos até fugir desse mal que vem envenenado a nosso sociedade a séculos, o amor próprio não é olhar os nossos erros e achar que são acertos mas sim vê-los e tentar consertá-los para assim construir um lugar melhor para se viver e é por isso que eu escolhi eles pra falar.
Eles salvam vidas com suas letras, músicas, vozes, palavras e por mais que pra muitos isso não seja algo grande para mim e muito grande.

Minha visão sobre o filme acredito que não seja muito diferente da dos meus colegas. Quando eu assisti ele de primeira eu gostei bastante da temática que gira em torno do curta, o fato de ele ter 32 minutos também me agrada bastante já que um filme com muito mais de 1 hora raramente prende minha atenção eu sou muito inquieta e pelo fato de não ser grande muitas pessoas possam ver já que ele, na minha opinião, é bem rápido e objetivo, mas o que realmente me prendeu ao filme não foi nem a ânsia por saber o que aconteceria no final mas sim foi ver e pensar que, infelizmente, isso aconteceu, aconteceu é infelizmente continuará a acontecer.
O preconceito é algo que sempre me intrigou e me incomodou porque na minha cabeça nunca sequer fez o mínimo de sentido(e nem e pra fazer, nem era pra existir) o que me deixa indignada e saber que isso é uma essência podre que algumas seres desumanos carregam, descriminar algem por simplesmente ser diferente de você, por não se encaixar num ideal que você mesmo criou e que ninguém nunca vai ser obrigado a seguir, e pior tirará a vida de alguém por isso.
Isso é extremamente ridículo.
A cor da sua pele, a forma como vc se veste, a curvatura do seu cabelo, a sua condição financeira, seu emprego, cargo social, sua orientação sexual, sua identidade de gênero, o lugar onde vc nasceu, mora morou, nada disso e de muitas outras coisas deveriam ser levadas em consideração quando se trata de respeitar algem.

My maternal grandfather was the son of indigenous people, when I was little I loved going to my grandfather's house and listening to the stories he told me (when I grew up I realized that most of them weren't even true, but I loved it), I liked to hear him tell how it was life with my parents, he always told me it wasn't easy, it was a lot of work but that he always found a way to make things "lighter" and that was something I admired my grandfather a lot for the "lightness" with which he lived his life life your life.
It was he who told me all the legends I know, in his own way, but he did.
I miss him a lot, the games we played together, his "childish way" of living.
