And by my dad's very obvious taste for classical music I quickly chose the violin as my personal instrument, but this time I wanted to impress him for real and I devoted myself to my skills on the violin. But I didn't enjoy playing in reality I didn't enjoy this and I wasn't being myself.

Even if I didn't enjoy the act at question I still tried my best to prove myself to my father. It came to the point that I was lying to him about getting into "advanced" classes and being the best at a certain thing. I was most scared of being shamed by him so I kept on trying to keep up the act but I was so focused on this that my actual grades started to perish and he found out about EVERYTHING and my greatest fear became true.
