         <description><![CDATA[<p>CMC Location: Picture Books</p><p>Overview: In science class the students were hatching chickens and to prepare the students for the real chickens the teacher checked out this book as a way to prepare the students for the class.</p><p>Problem: Students won't know how to take care of chickens.</p><p>Solution: The students use the book to help prepare them for the real chickens.</p>]]></description>

         <title>I Like Big Books And I Cannot Lie </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><br/></p><p>Overview </p><p>Miss Petunia teaches a kindergarten class of 14 children. At the beginning of the year, Miss Petunia started a unit on the importance of sharing and teamwork. </p><p><br/></p><p>Problems </p><p>As the year is coming to an end, she had noticed that Bad Billy doesn't like to share his blocks. He also is not working together with his peers. </p><p><br/></p><p>Solution </p><p>In order to not embarrass Bad Billy, she decided to read a big book, called Together, to the whole class to remind the students about teamwork and sharing. Bad Billy is now Good Billy. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li><p>fiction/ non-fiction</p></li><li><p>we have a student who cannot read standard American English and is not on the same level as their fellow classmates. </p></li><li><p> we are trying to find a way to get them up to speed with their other classmates. </p></li><li><p>solution- we found a book that uses tier 1 level words so it can be easier for the student to comprehend and it also has pictures pertaining to the words so that can assist them as they are reading. </p></li></ul>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li><p><strong>Overview</strong></p></li></ul><p>Mrs. Earlings, a veteran 3rd grade teacher, has been teaching reading and writing since the start of her career, and has been utilizing the same teaching methods since. Their class has been very receptive to her ways of teaching, and her writing test scores consistently surpass standards.&nbsp;</p><ul><li><p><strong>Problem</strong></p></li></ul><p>In the past seven or so years, Mrs. Earlings’ writing test scores have dropped, and her students have become less receptive to her teaching methods. She discerns that she needs to find a new way to teach writing to this new generation of students.&nbsp;</p><ul><li><p><strong>Solution</strong></p></li></ul><p>Mrs. Earlings visits the CMC and checks out several professional development books and books on how to teach writing effectively in a modern setting and begins to utilize the teaching methods from the book in her classroom.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p>]]></description>

         <title>Spiralbound Textbooks are the Superior Textbook </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>CMC Location: Textbooks</p><p>Overview: Ms. Dee's classroom is filled with students who have both spiral and hardbound. The students that have hardbound textbooks have a harder time getting assignments in class turned in on time and have a hard time using their textbook. The students use objects like calculators and pencil cases to keep the pages from flipping when they don't want it to. The students also find it hard to carry them with them weighing more, then the textbooks also take up more space.</p><p>Problem: students struggle to keep non spiral bound textbooks open and they take up too much space</p><p>Solution: School provides more spiral textbooks.</p>]]></description>

While the class breaks off in groups, Alexis and drew get into an argument over a toy </p><p><br></p><p><strong>Problem</strong></p><p>Alexis is playing with the cash register and drew witnesses this and wants to play with it too. The two then get into an argument with over who should have the toy</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Solution</strong></p><p>Darnell Brooks Jr The Third walks over and tells them that sharing is caring and shows them that this toy can be enjoyed together instead of just by oneself. </p>]]></description>
