Were these motives and causes for exploration harmless? I think that they are more harmful than harmless. I think this because while there are still many good things, the bad things overtake. For instance, religious beliefs, a lot of people will get angry because other people don't think the same thing that they do, and this could be very harmful. Another harmful thing was creating a trade route path for other European explorers. What makes this harmful if that other random people could find this path which will lead them to the other guys. The last reason why these motives and causes for exploration were harmless was because of Christopher Columbus. One very rude and disrespectful thing he did was take natives for slaves.

Yes, I would say that he embodied the human spirit of exploration and acquisition of knowledge. He also was confused as god because of his armor and how the light reflected off of it. This indicates that he was a good leader and accomplished what needed to be done.

Were the English and French any different from the Spanish when they reached the New World? They were a little different, but overall pretty similar. Just like in source one, both were preparing for a fight and taking over the land, this is almost the exact same that happened with the Spanish when they reached the New World. Another similarity is that in both the English and French, and the Spanish, there was a illness that was deadly. In source three, it was talking about a mystery illness that killed about 50 people, and with the Spanish, Smallpox was a big deal.

The Age of Exploration leaned more towards a time of invasion. It was mostly about the other type of humans that came to steal and take over. Just like in Tenochtitlan, everyone was destroying Tenochtitlan so they could steal and bring home treasures. In source 1 of English and French, it showed how the English came to the North America to destroy the French and take over their land. Overall, mostly everything was about how one country came to the other to steal, kill, and take land.
