Ice-cream cones always have some texture and I think by adding repeat lines it creates a tactile nature to the image. This logo has a number of shapes, circles for the ice-cream scoops and a triangle for the cone. I have used pastel colours to convey a happy mood. Colour is often representative of seasons and when I see these bright colours I think of summer which is when ice-cream is usually consumed. Asymmetry - The left side of this poster is visually 'heavier' than the right side, this creates a sense of depth along with the white ice-cream in the back of the foreground of the image. The white ice-cream fading into the background creates a sense of depth and creates the illusion of this two dimensional image becoming three dimensional. This captures the audience's attention, as it is not a straight forward image, it has the appearance of layers.
Rule of thirds - The rule of thirds grid has been used with the main focal point (the yellow ice-cream) placed on the left hand interesecting line in the foreground.
Anomaly - The yellow flavoured ice-cream with the waffle cone is designed to stick out. It helps to show that Friday is different to any other day as you can receive a free waffle cone as represented in the image.
Variety - Shown in the colour of the ice-cream, again reinforcing that the store offers variety on Fridays with its waffle cone deal. 
Pale blue in the background is considered the negative space. 
The 'free cone Friday' slogan was designed to be eye catching, as well as tie in with the colours already introduced in the logo.

It is emphasised to highlight the idea that by buying a standard vanilla ice-cream you can get something even better for free, a chocolate ice-cream.The buy 1 get 1 free slogan is placed on the gridlines in the foreground.
The poster was designed to feel clean, modern, fun and a little bit quirky with the different colour tops and ice-creams used.
Unity - The same ice-cream shapes are used, along with matching nail polish, however there is variety in the flavour of ice-cream and colour of the shirts. This is representative of the fact that everyone is slightly different, however no matter these differences everyone has a mutual love of ice-cream. It is also meant to highlight the deal offered, that by buying one ice-cream you will receive an additional one of any flavour you choose.

Variety - There is variety in the colour of the ice-cream scoops, the hands holding the cones and the directions they are facing, this adds interest to the image. There is unity in the shapes of the ice-cream and cones.
Repetition - the lines etched into the background of the image, help to create texture and give the back drop a tactile nature. This adds depth to the image.

The consistent imagery ensures that if someone only glanced at the poster they will know straight away the Happy ice-cream co has a pineapple flavour on offer. The pineapples face in different directions which adds interest to the image (variety).
Symmetry - It was used to create a balanced orderly feel to the poster.
