Climate
The climate of the savanna depends on its season. In the wet season, it is warm and receives 50 inches (1.27 m) of rain. In the dry season, the climate is extremely hot and rainfall will be only four inches each month.

Wildlife
Animals such as elephants, giraffes, lions, and cheetahs make their homes in the savanna. Because of its open environment, camouflage, and mimicry are essential for animal survival in the savanna.  Due to variations in climate, many of the species migrate in the dry season, so most mammals have long, strong legs that help them travel long distances. The savanna is also home to small insects and reptiles that take refuge under the ground, such as beetles, grasshoppers, termites, snakes, and arachnids, among others.

Flora
The vegetation that inhabits the savannas has developed techniques to survive in times of drought and in soils with few nutrients. Many of the plant species of the savanna have roots that store water and are usually deep to capture nutrients from the soil. At other times, the seeds are very resistant to cold temperatures and lack of water.
In this type of ecosystem there are abundant shrubs, grasses, thorns, and bushes and some trees that are scattered across the landscape.
