         <description><![CDATA[<div>&nbsp;The need to head farther inland to find forested areas made the pau-brazil trade harder. The investment in establishing farm land on good land increased and so did the need for workers. Portuguese tried to enslave Indians, unaccustomed to toiling long hours in fields and overcome by European diseases, many natives either fled far inland or died due to diseases.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

They lived in the savannahs and Atlantic forests of the south, such as the Guarani and the Kaingang, and the dry interior of the north-east such as the Pataxo Hã Hã Hãe and Tupinambá, they were among the first to come into contact with the european colonists when they landed in brazil in 1500. Indians and the Portuguese worked together to plant trees. <br><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Monopolize the lucrative trade of pau-brasil and the red wood. That would give the colony its name, and establish permanent settlements. The red wood largely helped grow the economy by bringing in money and establishing more things to trade. The red wood was used to make a special dye which would end up benefiting Brazil in trade and growing the population and there trade routes.</div><div><br></div>]]></description>
